Princess Mary’s cousin, Count Nikolai of Denmark, is having a ball in Sydney as he starts a new life Down Under after being stripped of his HRH royal title by his grandmother.
Count Nikolai, 23, looked every bit as lively a student as he enjoyed drinks at the UTS university bar in Ultimo with his girlfriend Benedicht Thoustrup on Thursday.
The Copenhagen native rocked a smart casual look for the outing — he wore a black jumper and jeans, and he accessorized with a necklace.
The jet black hair of the Danish royal family was freshly styled and he seemed to be having the time of his life as he laughed and joked with local students over a drink.
He also stared into the eyes of his beautiful girlfriend and stayed close to the brunette beauty at the popular student bar.

And on Sunday, Nikolai, 23, looked every inch a vibrant student as he enjoyed drinks at a college bar in the scenic suburb of Ultimo
Nikolai looked like he is adjusting well to life Down Under as he partied the night away with his new Australian friends.
The Earl has traveled Down Under to spend a semester on exchange at the University of Technology Sydney.
The couple lives together in Copenhagen, but moved to Sydney from August 1 to November 30 to study.

Nikolai, whose father is Prince Joachim of Denmark – the younger brother of Princess Mary’s husband Frederik, Crown Prince of Denmark – is seventh in line to the Danish throne.

The Queen stressed that the move “will be good for them in their future” and will allow the children – who have retained their position in the line of succession – to “shape their own lives without being constrained by the special considerations and duties’ which implies formal affiliation with the Danish royal family.
After his grandmother’s move to strip him and his siblings of their titles “for their own good,” Count Nikolai said he was sad, shocked and confused.
“My whole family and I are of course very sad. We are, as my parents also stated, shocked by this decision and how quickly it actually happened,” he told the Danish newspaper Extrabladet.
