Princess Mary wasted no time getting back to work after landing in Denmark following her short Christmas break in Australia.
She was photographed at the state New Year’s Eve celebrations in Copenhagen on Saturday.
The Australian-born royal and future Queen of Denmark swapped bathing suits for tiaras and looked resplendent in a blue sequined gown, tiara and state regalia for the annual New Year’s Eve dinner and Government table at Christian Palace VII at Amalienborg in Copenhagen.
She was accompanied by her husband, Prince Frederik, who was also wearing a ball gown.

She was pictured at the state New Year’s Eve celebrations in Copenhagen on Saturday (pictured with Frederik), having enjoyed less than two weeks Down Under for Christmas.
The Danish royal appearance comes as Princess Mary reportedly left Hobart last Wednesday night after a whirlwind Christmas holiday Down Under.
The 50-year-old princess began her Australian adventure in Sydney just under two weeks ago, where she was spotted jogging with her husband and son in Bondi.
She was later photographed jumping off the rocks and relaxing on the sand at Palm Beach in Sydney.
Mary looked resplendent in a blue sequined gown, tiara and state regalia for the annual New Year’s Eve dinner and government table at Christian VII Palace in Amalienborg.
Prince Frederik was also at the event in full dress having enjoyed a short trip to Sydney and Hobart.
Meanwhile, Queen Margrethe opted for red and satin shoes to match her stunning gown (pictured on New Year’s Eve).
During their two-week trip, Princess Mary and her family also managed to visit Princess Mary’s immediate and extended family in Tasmania for Christmas, where they stayed at Government House.
They attended a JackJumpers basketball game, where Mary cheered on the Tasmanian NBL team in the Boxing Day game against the New Zealand breakers.
The princess shared an Instagram photo on Christmas day where the family sat beaming in front of an incredible view of Hobart.
“Merry Christmas from ‘Down Under’ where we celebrate Christmas in Tasmania,” the post read.
“Here it’s not about frostbite or trees, it’s about summer and warm weather.”
Princess Mary of Denmark embraced her Australian roots by surfing at Sydney’s Palm Beach for a refreshing dip with friends and loved ones on Wednesday.
Later, Princess Mary was photographed shopping in Palm Beach (pictured) during her whirlwind holiday in Australia.

The visit to Australia was a private trip, meaning the Princess and Prince were not in the country in an official capacity and had no public events scheduled for their stay.
A statement from the royal household said: “In December, the family of the Crown Prince will travel on a private Christmas holiday to Australia to celebrate the holiday with the family of Her Royal Highness the Crown Princess.”
“It’s been five years since the Crown Prince together with his four sons last visited the Crown Princess’s homeland.”
Since marrying Prince Frederik in 2004, the princess has made four royal visits to Australia, but has visited her home country at least nine times.
Princess Mary last visited Australia last year for a “secret” solo trip to celebrate her 50th birthday.
