Princess Eugenie dons traditional dirndl dress as she attends wedding in Bavaria

Princess Eugenie looked stunning as she wore a traditional dirndl dress to her fashion designer friend’s wedding in Bavaria.

The youngest daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson attended the wedding of costume designer Annina Pfuel and Caspar von Veltheim at the Church of St Peter and Paul in Mittenwald, among a host of European royals.

Eugenie was accompanied by Princess Maria-Olympia of Greece, Princess Alessandra of Hanover, Princess Maria-Anunciata of Liechtenstein and Princess Claudia of Liechtenstein, among others, in a very stylish display.

Eugenie, 34, who is married to Jack Brooksbank, wore a traditional Bavarian dirndl in a gorgeous plum colour, complete with a white shirt.

The stunning gown featured a fitted bodice, while the royal opted for an elegant half-up, half-down hairstyle and glamorous earrings.

Eugenie was joined by several friends from luxury bridal brand Galvan, co-founders Anna-Christin Haas, Katherine Holmgren and Carolyn Hodler, who complemented the royals in various shades of pink and rose, and director Sophie Russell.

The wedding and reception, held at the Schloss Elmau Hotel, provided a breathtaking spectacle against the idyllic backdrop of the Bavarian mountains.

Bride Annina, originally from Tyrol, is the daughter of Count Christian Bruges-von Pfuel and an old friend of Eugenie.

The fashion designer attended Eugenie’s wedding to Jack Brooksbank in 2018.

Annina has her own dirndl brand, specializing in Bavarian Alpine fashion, so it is likely that she designed Eugenie’s outfit for the big day.

Other royals in attendance included Princess Maria Olympia of Greece, who was accompanied by Prince Philippos and Princess Nina.

And Princess Alessandra of Hanover wrote on Instagram: ‘Magical weekend. Thank you Annina and Caspar. I wish you a life full of eternal love.’

Princess Alessandra, 36, married to Prince Christian, is a Peruvian lawyer and former model.

Earlier this week, Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice praised the “incredible” work of the Haven House Hospice during a visit.

The royals visited the charity in Woodford Green, London, which works to ‘fund specialist care for children with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions’, where they attended a garden party and planted a memorial tree.

They appeared to be in high spirits as they spent the day talking to families and supporters of the venue, and shared a fun video from the day Instagram.

Eugenie, 34, wrote: ‘It was so special to see the care they provide and to meet the children and families whose lives have been changed by the care and support they receive here.’

The Garden Party celebrated the hospice’s 20th anniversary, with the organisation sharing photos of the royals’ moving visit on social media.

“We welcomed Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie and it was wonderful to see how they spent the afternoon interacting with children and their families, bringing joy and smiles to all present,” they said. Instagram read caption.

Elsewhere, the duo praised the hospice as a beacon of “love and support for so many families”.

“The compassion and care shown here is truly inspiring and it is a privilege to be part of this special day,” they added.

The princesses planted a tree in the garden – they were depicted holding spades – as a symbol of ‘hope, strength and the commitment to supporting families’.

Eugenie looked effortlessly elegant in a chic maroon maxi dress for the outing, adorned with white patterns.

She paired her outfit with high heels and her locks in an updo, resulting in a chic yet understated makeup look.

Elsewhere, her sister Beatrice, 36, opted for a figure-hugging silhouette in a navy dress with trumpet sleeves.

She styled her hair in waves and wore simple blue ballerina flats.
