Princess Diana’s brother Earl Spencer is in the middle of an explosive Supreme Court battle between his new lover and his estranged wife.
Professor Catrine Jarman, Earl Spencer’s girlfriend, is suing Countess Karen Spencer for allegedly revealing intimate secrets about her, causing her ‘distress and shame’.
Earl Spencer, 60, and Dr. Jarman, 42, confirmed their romance in October – after announcing his split from Lady Spencer, 52, in March.
But his old and new lovers are now about to clash in a bitter Supreme Court showdown over the spreading of intimate secrets.
Viking expert Dr. Jarman has accused Lady Spencer of revealing private details of her life to close friends, causing a major rift in the heart of one of Britain’s most famous families.
Dr. Jarman, who grew closer to Earl Spencer following a dig at his family home where he grew up with his late sister Diana, claims the May leak caused her “distress, upset and shame.”
The Mail revealed in October that Dr Jarman had taken Lady Spencer to court for ‘misuse of private information’.
The paperwork, as reported by The sun Last night says, “Dr. Jarman did not know that the Countess had even obtained the private information until around mid-May.

‘She only found out after the Countess disclosed the information to Earl Spencer, the revelation of which was shocking to her.
‘Dr. At no time did Jarman give her consent to the Countess to disclose that information to third parties or to reveal anything to that effect.”
It goes on to say that the lack of consent should have been ‘obvious’ to the Countess, given the nature of the information. She has accused the countess of passing on the secrets to a “close group of personal friends.”
The Countess is accused of telling this to those involved in raising their 11-year-old daughter, Lady Charlotte Diana.
The list also reportedly includes teachers and parents from Spratton Hall School, an £18,600-a-year private school in Northants.
It is said that the Countess even told her personal trainer.
Dr. Jarman demands damages and an injunction forbidding Lady Spencer from telling others, as well as a full list of those who have already been told.
She says the Countess is liable for the damage she allegedly caused.
