Princess Diana’s brother goes on theatre date with Norwegian archaeologist Cat Jarman – after revealing ‘immensely sad’ divorce from third wife who he met on blind date
Charles Spencer and fellow podcast host Cat Jarman appeared relaxed in each other’s company during a theater date.
The Mail on Sunday last weekend revealed how Princess Diana’s younger brother divorced Countess Spencer and became close to Dr Jarman, a Norwegian archaeologist.
Earl Spencer, 60, was pictured last week walking with Dr Jarman to the Prince of Wales Theater in London, where they attended a performance of the hit musical comedy The Book Of Mormon.
“They looked into each other’s eyes and there seemed to be a strong attraction,” said an onlooker. “They were both laughing as they walked to the theater and he didn’t use his VIP status to beat the long line.”

Dr. Jarman, 42, who is separated from her husband, has also helped Earl Spencer excavate a Roman villa at Althorp, the Spencer family estate in Northamptonshire.
Viking expert Dr. Jarman received his PhD from the University of Bristol in 2017. She was recently named Nordic Person of the Year by the Confederation of Scandinavian Societies.
Over the weekend, Earl Spencer announced the “immensely sad” news that he and his third wife Karen Gordon, 52, a Canadian philanthropist, were divorcing.
The couple married in 2011, but their relationship is said to have broken down due to the strain he had writing his harrowing memoir, A Very Private School, which details the abuse he suffered at boarding school.
His wife was absent from the book launch at Althorp and Spencer House in London in March, while Dr Jarman praised his “beautifully written” memoir on social media.
He has reportedly hired Belgravia divorce lawyer Baroness Shackleton, known as the ‘Steel Magnolia’, to represent him.
