Princess Charlotte got along well with tennis star Lucy Shuker today. The royal made a ‘pinky promise’ with the athlete ahead of the Wimbledon final.
The nine-year-old Queen accompanied the 42-year-old Princess of Wales to the prestigious sporting event to watch Carlos Alcaraz take on Novak Djokovic in the Grand Slam at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London.
Before mother and daughter took their seats in the Royal Box, they met the tennis stars, who each presented Kate with a bouquet of flowers.
Charlotte was photographed having a playful conversation with 44-year-old Paralympic medalist Lucy Shuker.
After their lively conversation, the daughter of the Prince and Princess of Wales hooked her little finger into the tennis player’s hands, in what was known as the ‘pinky promise’.

After greeting Lucy, the Princess seemed equally pleased to meet 21-year-old tennis star Emma Raducanu.
The daughter of the Prince and Princess of Wales, who wore a £70 Guess Polka Dot dress, was thrilled to meet the tennis star and was photographed flashing a big smile in her presence.

Ten-year-old Prince George was not present, perhaps indicating that he will be attending the European Championship final in Berlin with his father tonight.
Also in attendance were A-list stars Julia Roberts and Tom Cruise – a close friend of the royals – as well as Benedict Cumberbatch – an Eton schoolmate of Prince William – Mayor of London Sadiq Khan and tennis royalty Andre Agassi.
