Princess Charlotte’s new nickname! This is how classmates call the royal, 7, due to her ‘feisty’ and ‘adventurous’ personality.
Princess Charlotte has reportedly earned the nickname ‘warrior princess’ at school due to her adventurous ‘tomboy’ persona.
The seven-year-old second son of the Prince and Princess of Wales coined the nickname during his first year at Willcocks Nursery, and a royal expert thinks it might be here to stay.
Katie Nicholl told Entertainment Tonight that while Charlotte has the nickname ‘Princess’, her ‘tomboy’ interests have earned her the quirky term of affection.
He added that the princess is known to be very adventurous and therefore could keep her nickname throughout her school years, the Mirror reports.
The royal expert said: “Apparently she earned that nickname because she’s obviously a princess, but she’s quite the tomboy.”
Princess Charlotte (pictured at Sandringham at Christmas last year) has reportedly been given the nickname ‘Warrior Princess’ according to royal expert Katie Nicholl, who told Entertainment Tonight that the seven-year-old is a ‘tomboy ‘.
“She loves to climb trees and is quite the adventurer, she was quite known for her feisty personality. I wonder if that might be a nickname that sticks with her.
Warrior Princess is just one of many nicknames given to Princess Charlotte, and her family uses several different terms of affection to refer to the seven-year-old.
Her mother, the Princess of Wales, has been heard talking about her daughter and naming her ‘Lottie’, a typical shortened form of the name ‘Charlotte’.
Royal fans sometimes see Princess Charlotte’s cheeky side, like her comedic display at the Commonwealth Games last summer.
During a recent visit to Northern Ireland, Kate, 41, chatted with a member of the public about her son’s age, to which she replied: “Oh, he’s the same age as Lottie.”
Prince William, in turn, often refers to his daughter by a different nickname, which is a sweet endearment.
It was previously reported that he referred to Charlotte as ‘Mignonette’, which means ‘small and dainty’ in French.
But if the reports are to be believed, the daring young princess has long since outgrown her father’s nickname and is finding her own way in the world.
In more recent appearances, royal fans have been getting a glimpse of Charlotte’s quirky personality while she’s been away from home with her family.
During a trip to the Commonwealth Games last summer, the princess watched the events with excitement, but after a few hours she started having fun with her father.
She made faces as she sat in the stands, and was photographed giving her parents an enthusiastic thumbs up to show she was having fun.
The young princess has also shown her maturity in more recent appearances, most notably at the funeral of her beloved ‘Gan Gan’, Queen Elizabeth.
Standing with his older brother, Prince George, outside Westminster Abbey at the late monarch’s state funeral, he appeared to tell the second in line to the throne “you have to bow” as he passed the coffin of the Queen.
And it seems that Prince George knew how to listen to his younger sister’s advice, as he quickly did.
