The snaps were shared on the Instagram page for the government of Monaco and the caption read: ‘On the occasion of International Women’s Rights Day, HE Mr. Pierre DARTOUT organized a lunch chaired by SAS Princess Charlène.
‘During lunch under the theme ‘Women and Sport’, the Secretary of State wanted to remind that in the Principality, the defense of women’s rights has been at the heart of the Directors’ priorities for many years.
He also paid tribute to women all over the world who fight for their rights and make their voices heard, sometimes at the cost of their lives, referring to their situation in Afghanistan, Iran or Ukraine, among others.
Finally, he expressed his conviction that the involvement of young people is indispensable for building a more equal society and that the theme, chosen for March 8 this year by the Committee for the Promotion and Protection of Women’s Rights, is the devotion of the principality to humanistic values and universal wear through sport.”
It comes as Charlene and her husband Prince Albert, 64, are gearing up for their upcoming performance at King Charles’ coronation in May – after Prince Albert of Monaco became the first European royal to confirm their presence.

The event will be one of the most prominent events Charlene has attended since her recent illness, which saw her 11 months away from the Mediterranean principality in her native South Africa, where she was being treated for an unspecified ailment.
Albert added: “We have kept in touch since His Majesty became King, but I have not spoken to him personally since the Queen’s funeral.”
The prince, who looks forward to attending the king’s coronation, added: “I’m sure His Majesty will add his own ‘personal details’ to the ceremonies, but I’m not sure what they will be. ‘
Prince Albert further revealed that he and his wife, Princess Charlene, will definitely be at the ceremony to see the king’s coronation, although their 8-year-old twins, Hereditary Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella, may be “too young.”
