Princess Charlene paid an emotional visit to an animal shelter as she sent ‘all her love’ to fans after her return to royal duties.
The mother of two, 44, yesterday shared a photo of herself petting a rescue dog at the Society of the Protection of Animals (SPA) shelter in Peille – a village between Monaco and the French Alps.
The princess – who was announced as SPA’s new president earlier this year – opened the property last month with her husband Prince Albert II.
Charlene opted for a black turtleneck sweater and slim-fitting camel pants when she toured the new shelter this week.

In the caption, the mother encouraged her 450,000 followers to support their local animal charity.
She wrote: ‘Went to visit the Monaco SPA. Please support a local SPA or animal shelter near you.
‘Thank you. thanks. With all my love.’
Charlene has made more public appearances in recent months, after a long illness and a sojourn in South Africa, where she campaigned against rhino poaching.

The pair formed a united front and held hands after declaring the animal shelter open. Princess Charlene spent nearly a year away from Monaco after being treated for an unspecified condition.
The 44-year-old spent nearly a year away from the Mediterranean principality in her native South Africa, where she was being treated for an unspecified condition.
She then booked a clinic in Switzerland, sparking fears that she would find it difficult to return to royal life with her 64-year-old husband, Prince Albert.
But in an in-depth interview in the latest Monaco-Matin edition, the princess said she was determined to overcome her problems.
“My health is still fragile and I don’t want to go too fast,” she said. “The path has been long, difficult and very painful.”
Referring to her seven-year-old twins, Gabriella and Jacques, Charlene said, “When I returned to the Principality, I focused all my energies on my children, my husband and my health, because those are my priority.”

She denied rumors of a possible divorce or a permanent move to Switzerland, saying: “I am very happy to be back home in Monaco and with my family.”
Princess Charlene returned to her public duties in May, making occasional public appearances with her husband Prince Albert and her children Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella by her side.
She posed with Albert for a portrait on the occasion of their 11th wedding anniversary, and joined him in September to take her children back to school.
Charlene made her most notable engagement last month when she joined her husband at the Queen’s historic funeral in London, along with 2,000 other mourners at Westminster Abbey.
