Woman killed in four-car collision as a female driver fights for life and a third is rushed to hospital with serious injuries following a truck accident

A woman has died in a four-car collision, while several others are taken to hospital with serious injuries after a car collided with a truck on a major highway.

The vehicles crashed into the westbound lanes of the Princes Highway near Darnum, in Victoria’s West Gippsland region, at about 8:40 a.m. Monday.

One of the cars was carrying three people. A female passenger in the front seat, who has yet to be formally identified, sadly died at the scene.

The female driver was airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries, while a teenage girl was also rushed to hospital with serious injuries.

Another woman, the sole driver of a second car, was taken to hospital after sustaining non-life-threatening injuries in the multi-vehicle accident.

Two women in a third car were checked at the scene by paramedics, while the driver of a fourth car was treated for minor injuries.
