Prince’s ex-manager reacts to John Legend’s DNC performance of hit track Let’s Go Crazy

John Legend got the crowd on their feet when he performed Prince’s hit Let’s Go Crazy with Shelia E. on Wednesday night during the third night of the 2024 Democratic National Convention in Chicago.

But there have been mixed reactions to Legend’s rendition, with some fans of the late Prince describing it as less than ‘legendary’ and beyond his reach.

Others felt that Legend wasn’t the right person for the song and that Shelia E. would have been better off performing solo.

Now, Prince’s former manager and attorney L. Londell McMillian has spoken out about the online criticism, and it appears he’s more forgiving than Legend’s detractors.

McMillian, 58, who saw Legend’s DNC performance in person, said TMZ He thinks he did a good job.

Sheila E. (born Sheila Cecilia Escovedo), 66, began working with the Minneapolis, Minnesota legend after she split with her longtime band in 1983.
