Prince William is feeling ‘quietly positive about the Princess of Wales’ recovery’ after Kate Middleton ‘took the lead’ in their congratulatory message to Team GB, body language suggests.
The 42-year-old royal couple gave a controversial video message to the British Olympians last night as the sporting event in Paris drew to a close.
After being introduced by American rapper Snoop Dogg, the Princess of Wales, wearing a striped Ralph Lauren T-shirt, told the athletes: “Congratulations Team GB.”
The Prince of Wales, who wore a Team GB shirt and sported a beard, added: “Congratulations on all you have achieved, you are an inspiration to us all.”
Body language expert Judi James analyzed the loving interaction, highlighting the princess’s confidence in front of the camera.

The expert explained to Femail: ‘Kate does not hide behind her husband or use him as a rock or support.
‘The couple sit close together, but Kate is at the front in this pose, with William’s shoulder just behind hers. Kate leads the message, speaking first with lively gestures, while William waits for his turn.
‘Kate’s perfect, symmetrical smile is back and her eyebrows raise to show her personal pride for the GB team.
‘William’s facial expression next to her suggests pride in his wife and the Olympic team, as he holds his lips together in a furrowed smile.
‘When it’s his turn to speak, he lifts his head and raises one eyebrow, another sign of machismo. But this is really Kate’s show and William seems delighted to see that, now that his wife is standing next to him in public again.
According to the expert, William indicated that he feels “quietly positive and encouraged” about his wife’s recovery.
Additionally, the expert noted that Williams’ facial hair in the video was “symbolic of the way [of showing] Currently he devotes his time and energy to his family.
Judi added: ‘The beard is a symbol of masculinity and physical strength, but it is also a gesture that announces ‘I am free’ for men like William, who normally look clean-shaven at work.’

Kate and William’s glowing video emerged shortly after a heartfelt statement from King Charles III, in which he called all Olympians “an inspiration.”
The monarch congratulated them on their “exceptional successes” and praised their “pure talent, perseverance and hard work” in the message, which was sent just hours before the final moments of the Olympic Games in the French capital.
In the viral video, which has been liked more than 450,000 times, former England captain and football icon David Beckham also offered a message of support.
