Prince Harry has expressed concern about other ‘spare parts’ in the family, despite his brother making it clear that his children are not Harry’s responsibility.
The Duke of Sussex insisted, in an interview with The Telegraphthat he still felt a responsibility ‘to know that of those three children, at least one will end up as [him]the spare’.
“And that hurts, that worries me,” he added while accepting that any chance of a reconciliation with William was unlikely at this point.
William’s eldest son, Prince George of Wales, is second in line to the throne, with his younger siblings Princess Charlotte of Wales third and Prince Louis of Wales fourth.

The duke also spoke of his own children, saying he would not allow Archie, his eldest son, to go through the same “traumatic” experience as him and his brother.
After drinking ayahuasca, a South American psychoactive drink used in shamanic medicine, Harry says the experience created an “additional divide” between him and William.
The Prince admitted that the relationship with the brothers “could not be worse” if they went through the psychedelic experience together.
‘Suddenly I realized – wow! It’s not about crying. She [Diana] he wants me to be happy.
“So this weight on my chest was not the need to cry, it was the acceptance and understanding that she is gone, but that she wants me to be happy and that she is very present in my life.”
‘And now, as two brothers, if one of you goes through that experience and the other doesn’t, it naturally creates a further division between you. Which is very sad,’ said Harry.
His memoir, which critics criticized as a means of playing victim, was an attempt to save the monarchy “from themselves”, Harry said.

‘How dare you, as an individual, talk about it, because that makes us all really uncomfortable? So you might not like me right now, but maybe you’ll thank me five or 10 years from now,” he said.
The Prince said that he did not intend to destroy the monarchy, but wanted to save them from themselves, and that it was his “lifetime mission” to correct the wrongs that drove him out.
“It is not about trying to overthrow the monarchy, it is about saving them from themselves.
“And I know a lot of people will crucify me for saying that,” he said.
He added: ‘He took my mother, he took Caroline Flack, who was my girlfriend, and he almost took my wife.
‘And if that’s not a reason enough to use pain and turn it into a purpose, I don’t know what is.’
Harry also suggested that reform was needed in the royal family.
“If only 10 percent of the scrutiny that was put on me and M was put on this institution, we wouldn’t be in this mess right now,” he said in a condemning comment.
It’s very dirty. It’s so dark. And it will go on and on and I look forward to the day when we’re no longer a part of it, but I’m worried about who’s going to be next,’ he added.
In the interview with the Telegraph, Harry said that as he got older, he dealt with his ‘traumatic’ experiences by going ‘slightly off the rails’, drinking and using drugs, before confronting ‘the very thing that [he] he had been running away or scared for all those years.
“I realized that you don’t make friends, especially within your family, because everyone has learned to accept that trauma.” [as] part of life,’ he said.
“A lot of people go through a lot… when it comes to William and I, the fascinating part is that we both went through a similar traumatic experience,” he added.
