Prince William ‘had a nightmare getting in to Taylor Swift’s Wembley show’ and ‘was running late with Prince George and Princess Charlotte’ for meet-and-greet with the star, insider claims

Prince William ‘had a nightmare while attending Taylor Swift’s Wembley show’ and ‘was late with Prince George and Princess Charlotte’ for a meet-and-greet with the star, an insider claims.

The 42-year-old Prince of Wales took his two eldest children to the first of Taylor’s three sold-out shows in London on Friday.

The royals enjoyed the three-hour concert from a box in the stadium, which can accommodate up to 90,000 people.

However, an insider has claimed the royals’ trip to Wembley did not go smoothly – and there was ‘panic’ over their timing.

They said HELLO!: ‘They had a nightmare when they came in, they arrived very late, but they planned to get there earlier so they could have the meet and greet with Taylor beforehand because they knew they wanted to leave early.

‘They only had 25 minutes left so they had a quick meet and greet and then went to their box for the show. There was a bit of stress and panic because it was taking too long.”

The insider also claims that Prince William and his children tried to stay at the back of the coffin so as not to draw too much attention to themselves during the performance.

However, the Prince of Wales made an exception for Taylor’s 2014 hit Shake It Off.

The royal was seen at the front and center of the box as he showed off his famous ‘dad dance’ before the performance.

During the pre-show meet-and-greet, Taylor posed for a selfie with the royals and her boyfriend Travis Kelce, who appeared on stage with the star last night.

The Prince and Princess of Wales posted the heartwarming image to their Instagram the next morning with the caption: “Thank you Taylor Swift for an amazing night!”

Prince William and Taylor Swift are said to have first met in 2013 when they performed Livin’ On A Prayer with Jon Bon Jovi at a charity event at Kensington Palace.

According to event organizers, the performance at the Winter Whites Gala evening at Kensington Palace was completely improvised.

Taylor described the impromptu celebration during an interview with The Mail on Sunday shortly after the event: “I could hear his voice and it’s quite good. A nice tone. I would definitely say he has star quality and if he ever wants me to sing with him again, I’ll be there.”

Speaking about the 2021 event, the Prince said he obeyed “like a puppy” when the glamorous pop star ordered him on stage for the impromptu performance with Jon Bon Jovi.

Earlier in the day, Buckingham Palace’s military band performed a rendition of Shake It Off to mark the Eras Tour’s arrival in London.

After footage emerged of William’s lavish dancing, royal fans claimed the selfies with Taylor ‘cast shade’ on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Meghan reportedly attended a Taylor Swift concert at the same arena in LA the month before, although no selfies with Swift have surfaced.

The footage of William dancing seemed very different from Harry’s behavior when he and wife Meghan Markle attended Beyonce’s performance at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles last September.

While the Duchess of Sussex appeared to enjoy the show, Harry appeared dejected and often looked at his phone instead of the stage.
