Prince William showed his cheeky side while in Cornwall last week – after asking a couple about their plans for their 41st wedding anniversary.

The Prince of Wales, 41, appeared relaxed as he chatted with well-wishers during a royal visit to Fistral Beach in Newquay on Thursday.

A royal fan shared a clip of the moment on X, formerly known as Twitter, which has been viewed more than 137,000 times.

The heir to the British throne can be heard saying: ‘Are you guys on holiday or are you local?’ After the couple revealed they were from Bristol but were traveling for their 41st anniversary, William congratulated them.

Before cheekily raising his eyebrows and joking: ‘Do you have any clever plans tonight?’, to which the man quipped: ‘That was Tuesday night.’

Amused fans raved about William’s interaction with the celebrating couple, with one person writing on Twitter: “The way he wiggled his eyebrows as he cheekily asked the man if he had any little plans tonight.”

Another said: “I think we know what he was thinking when he asked that question,” while a third added: “William’s eyebrows and smile did the talking.”

A fourth wrote: ‘He knew what he was doing with those suggestive facial expressions.’

During the visit, the prince met members of lifesaving clubs Holywell Bay and Newquay Surf and watched demonstrations of training exercises including surfboard skills and CPR.

William showed off his volleyball skills when his serve proved too much as the opponent repeatedly hit the ball into the net as he tried to return.

The beach is popular with surfers and regularly hosts international competitions, as well as the Boardmasters Festival.

He asked a group of teenagers, ‘What is it like out there? Looks good for a few waves.”

‘Can I give Willem a kiss!’ an adoring fan was heard asking as the crowd gathered with ice creams in hand and sun hats at the ready.

He had previously visited a housing project in the Duchy of Cornwall at Nansledan in Newquay, designed to give homeless people a home.

The scheme – in partnership with Cornish charity St Petrocs – will see 24 houses built on Duchy land for people experiencing homelessness.

As well as providing a place to live, the project also provides comprehensive support and is inspired by Homewards – a five-year program led by the Royal Foundation of The Prince and Princess of Wales to show that it is possible to end homelessness .

Construction will start in September and the first homes should be ready in the autumn of next year.

William, who is also the Duke of Cornwall, a title he inherited from his father after the death of the late Queen, controls the Duchy of Cornwall, a portfolio of land, property and investments worth more than £1 billion, that provide an income for the crown prince.

A spokesperson for Kensington Palace said: ‘Today marks the first time the Prince will see the location of the new homes.

“He looks forward to hearing from the Duchy team on how the work is progressing and from St. Petrocs on the impact the project will have on people experiencing homelessness locally.

‘Both His Royal Highness and the Duchy hope that this project will serve as an inspiration to others.’

William’s trip to Cornwall was without his wife Kate, who is taking time away from public duties due to her cancer diagnosis.

But the Princess of Wales is “doing well”, William revealed on Friday, as he discussed his wife’s health during a visit to St Mary’s Community Hospital in the Isles of Scilly.

William continues with his royal duties while Kate receives treatment, following her ‘shocking’ announcement in March that she had been diagnosed and was receiving chemotherapy.

William said George, Charlotte and Louis are ‘very jealous’ of his trip, adding that he might take them to Cornwall later this year, according to The Sun.
