Details of the bombshell book were revealed and the description from publisher Penguin Random House read: ‘With its raw, unwavering honesty, Spare is a landmark publication full of insight, revelation, self-examination and hard-won wisdom about the eternal power of love over grief.

‘Spare immediately takes the reader back to one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the world watched in grief and horror.

The publishers of the postponed memoir have made it clear that Harry will not shy away from sensitive topics, such as the family’s decision to encourage him and his older brother Prince William to walk behind their mother Diana’s coffin.

Family members were not notified of the book’s title prior to the announcement yesterday, while the Spanish-language version is even edgier, subtitled En La Sombra, meaning ‘in the shadows’.
