Prince Harry gave Meghan Markle a ‘tight squeeze’ as the couple left Westminster Abbey after the Queen’s state funeral yesterday, a fellow funeral visitor has revealed.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who are currently living in the US after stepping back from their royal duty last year, are said to be in Windsor today following the extraordinary funeral and burial of the late monarch yesterday.

And now a fellow mourner who attended the event has opened up about the couple’s behavior at the event.

Funeral guest and lawyer Pranav Bhanot said he noticed ‘how supportive Harry Meghan was’, telling People: ‘When they went their separate ways after the ceremony, he gave her a tight squeeze. I had a feeling he wanted to make sure she was comfortable.’

The couple, who became known for their constant hand-holding during their time as working royals, seemed to enjoy comforting each other after the service and were photographed holding hands.

Elsewhere, Pravnav said the duke offered the duchess “reassurance” as they walked together before going in different directions.

The loving gesture is just the latest in a long line of public displays of affection between Harry, 37, and Meghan since they first made their relationship public in 2017.

Pictured together at the 2017 Invictus Games in Toronto, the couple, in the early stages of their courtship, leaned against each other and beamed with delight.

In a now-famous photo, Harry leaned into Meghan’s ear to whisper something, while Meghan crossed her legs and leaned forward, clearly delighted by what the Prince said.

The Duchess has been pictured dozens of times placing her hands on Harry’s back, while Harry is a fan of Meghan’s hair and gently strokes her ponytail.

Early in the day, members of the royal family – including Prince George, nine, and Princess Charlotte, seven – and thousands of world leaders and foreign dignitaries gathered at Westminster Abbey for the funeral of the late monarch.

Harry, who is mourning his beloved grandmother, was visibly moved during the procession and in the church, as was his wife, the Duchess of Sussex, who wiped away tears during the ceremony.

The Duke and other members of the royal family, including King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla, were photographed yesterday afternoon as they left St George’s Chapel in Windsor after a moving service for the late monarch.

In what were the longest days for the Royal Family, relatives of the Queen returned to Windsor Castle to rest before returning to St George’s Chapel later that evening for a private funeral service.

There they witnessed Her Majesty’s funeral with the Duke of Edinburgh in a service conducted by the Dean of Windsor at the King George VI Memorial Chapel.

It was one of the few parts of yesterday that was not televised, and billions of people around the world thought they saw some of the processions and services in Her Majesty’s honour.

A smaller, more private funeral service took place Monday night, with the Queen’s family finally given the chance to pay their respects and mourn her passing away from the gaze of the public.

The bottom line is that royal reporter Neil Sean claimed that Meghan has requested a “one-on-one” meeting with King Charles to heal the fissures before leaving for California with Harry after the Queen’s funeral.

Neil said he had learned from a “very good source” that the American actress had sent a letter requesting a private meeting with the king.

Sean claimed Meghan wants to “clear the air” amid reports that the couple will fly back to the US as soon as possible to see their children, Archie, three, and Lilibet, one.
