The Duke of Sussex, 38, sat down with television host Anderson Cooper on CBS News’ 60 Minutes in a new interview to be released on Sunday to discuss his explosive memory Spare.

“I went into this incredibly naive,” Harry told Cooper. He had no idea that the British press was so intolerant. Hell, he was probably intolerant before his relationship with Meghan.

In a clip released by CBS, Harry criticized the British media for being “bigoted” as well.

Harry opened up about Meghan’s struggle with the press, which may have made it difficult for the Duchess to adjust to her life as a royal.

“What Meghan had to go through was similar in part to what Kate and Camila [Queen Consort] I’m going through. Very different circumstances, but then you add the element of racing, which is what the press, the British press, jumped on immediately,” Harry said.

Asked by Cooper to confirm if he was intolerant before meeting Meghan, Harry replied: “I don’t know.” Let’s put it this way, I didn’t see what I see now.

In another clip posted earlier this week, Harry spoke about the damaging allegations made against his family during the Netflix documentary of the bombing.

Harry defended himself and Meghan from public criticism of their decision to publicly criticize the royal family.

The duke insisted that he has “tried to do this in private” but that “every time there have been briefings and leaks.”

“You know, the family motto is ‘never complain, never explain’, but it’s just a motto and it doesn’t really stick,” he said.

Asked by Cooper if there had been “a lot of complaining and a lot of explaining through leaks,” Harry stated, “Through leaks.” They will feed or have a conversation with the correspondent and that correspondent will be literally spoon-fed information and write the story.

And at the end, they will say that they have contacted Buckingham Palace for comment. But the whole story is a Buckingham Palace commentary.
