Prince Harry reveals what Archie wants to be when he grows up in sweet moment during new Netflix show Heart of Invictus

Prince Harry has spoken about some of the sweet conversations he’s having with his son Archie, which shows him asking the four-year-old what he wants to be when he grows up.

The Duke of Sussex, 38, made the comments during a speech he gave to participants in the 2022 Invictus Games in The Hague.

Footage of the speech was shared in the new Netflix series Heart of Invictus from the royal family, released by the streaming giant today.

The Invictus Games, inspired by the Warrior Games in the US, are a multi-sport event for wounded, wounded and sick military personnel, in which both serving and veteran military personnel from around the world participate.

Netflix’s documentary takes a behind-the-scenes look at the games, telling the stories of competing athletes and featuring interviews with Prince Harry as he discusses the event, which was first held in 2014.

Harry’s speech, featured in the series, has him saying, “It’s here at Invictus Games that you realize: whatever you’re carrying around, it was the stepping stone that took you to the next level.”

To be the best version of yourself. The version of yourself that you missed, that your husbands missed, that your children missed.”

He then talks about Archie, revealing that the two are having conversations about the future and what the youngster wants to be one day.

According to Harry, “When I talk to my son Archie about what he wants to be when he grows up, some days it’s an astronaut, some days a pilot.

“But what I want to remind him is that it doesn’t matter what you want to be when you grow up, your character is what matters most.

“And nothing would make his mother and me prouder than to see him have the character of what we see before us today: you.”

During the series, Harry also talked about the loss of his mother Diana, Princess of Wales, and the trauma it caused him.

In the second episode of the program, he says, “I can only speak from my personal experience, my 2012 tour of Afghanistan in Flying Apaches. Sometime after that, an unraveling took place.

‘The trigger for me was actually the return from Afghanistan. But the things that surfaced were from 1997 and from the age of 12.

“Losing my mother at such a young age, the trauma I had, I was never really aware of.

‘It was never talked about. I didn’t really talk about it and suppressed it, as most young people would have done.

“But when it all came out, I bounced off the walls, because what’s going on here? I feel everything now instead of being numb.

“The biggest problem for me was the people that no one around me could really help.

“I didn’t have that support structure, that network, or that expert advice to map out what was really going on with me.

“Unfortunately, like most of us, the first time you really consider therapy is when you’re lying on the floor in a fetal position, probably wishing you’d done this sort of thing before. And that’s what I really want to change.’

Heart of Invictus was released ahead of next month’s Invictus Games, which take place in Düsseldorf from September 9.

The event, which will last eight days, will be attended by both Harry and Meghan.
