Prince Harry reveals why he’ll never leave the U.S. and return home with Meghan Markle

Prince Harry has revealed that he and his wife Meghan Markle have no plans to return to Britain with their two children.

The 40-year-old Duke of Sussex shared his desire to remain in the United States at the annual DealBook Summit in New York on Wednesday, where he cited safety as a factor in their decision to stay.

“I really enjoy living here and raising my children here,” said Prince Harry The times.

According to the publication’s report, there are activities he can do with his children that he “undoubtedly wouldn’t be able to do in Britain.”

They added that Harry focused on being “the best husband and the best father that I can possibly be.”

Harry and Meghan, 43, stepped back from royal duties in 2020 and moved with their two children – Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, three – to Montecito, California, in June that year.

Since Harry and Meghan resigned from the royal family, the couple have spoken about how the company could have done more to support Meghan during her time in Britain.

In their Netflix series, Meghan described her first meeting with the Prince and Princess of Wales – and how she was “surprised” to learn that the formality of the royal family was continuing behind closed doors.

She said: ‘Even when Will and Kate came over and I met her for the first time, I remember I was wearing ripped jeans, I was barefoot.

“Just like I was a hugger, I’ve always been a hugger. I didn’t know that this is really shocking for many British people.

‘I started to understand that the formality on the outside carried over to the inside, that there is a forward-facing way of being and then you close the door and think, “Okay, we can relax now.”

‘But that formality works on both sides and that was surprising to me.’

In Prince Harry’s biography Spare, the Duke claimed the Princess of Wales had been ‘put on edge’ by Meghan’s arrival and would be ‘forced to compete’ with the actress.

In their impressive interview with Oprah Winfrey, Meghan revealed that she began experiencing suicidal thoughts while pregnant with Archie in 2019 and didn’t get the support she needed.

Elsewhere during his appearance at the summit, the Duke opposed banning social media for children, saying it ’causes all kinds of problems’.

According to The Times report, he said a ban on social media for children made no sense because taking it away could lead to arguments between families and bullying on playgrounds.

However, Harry did argue that social media companies should be subject to more transparency and accountability.

Earlier today it was announced that Harry has hired the services of his neighbor Katy Perry to sing at the opening night of his Invictus Games, which will take place on February 8, 2025.

The Grammy-nominated star will headline the opening event for disabled military veterans in Vancouver, Canada.

Katy is by far the biggest star to appear at the biennial event attended by Harry and his wife Meghan.

She and her actor partner, British actor Orlando Bloom, are close neighbors of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in Montecito, California.

The couple were among the guests invited to the third birthday party for Harry and Meghan’s daughter Lilibet at their country home in the chic Californian enclave favored by many A-list stars.

The Invictus Games will be the first major event Harry and Meghan have attended together after reports emerged that they were going their separate ways in their engagement.
