Revealed: Prince Harry lookalike at Kate Middleton’s Christmas carol concert is RAF reservist who claims he’s ‘never noticed the resemblance
A Prince Harry look-alike’s phone ‘hasn’t stopped ringing’ since he was spotted in a trailer for the Princess of Wales’s Christmas carol concert, his proud mother has revealed.
Sergeant Chris Dykes, 37, a reservist in the RAF, was seen by millions in the service’s trailer, with eagle-eyed viewers immediately noticing the striking resemblance between him and the fifth in line for the throne.
Dressed in his ceremonial uniform, Chris was a real eye-catcher for Harry, right down to the red beard and similar physique and stature to a trailer for the ‘Together at Christmas’ concert that hit the screens ahead of the broadcast.
Delighted mum Janet Wyatt-Sugg, 68, told MailOnline: ‘To be honest, since he grew his red beard about a year ago I thought he looked a lot like Prince Harry, especially when he’s in a uniform.
“He’s a ginger and I’m a ginger and as a kid he was in the RAF cadets when he was younger and three years ago he joined the reserves and he was so happy.
‘Then he grew the beard and one day when he was in uniform I said, ‘Gosh, you look a lot like Prince Harry’ and I never thought anything of it until we saw the trailer and now all his friends and the rest of the unit calls him Harry.
‘His phone hasn’t been ringing since he was on TV and I joked with him that he should see if he could get some work as a Prince Harry look-alike.’
Chris, who transports luxury cars for a living, lives in Monmouth, South Wales, is a member of the 622 Volunteer Gliding Squad based in Upavon, near Pewsey in Wiltshire and their motto is ‘Propter, Praemium Patienta (Patient for the sake of reward ) .

The squadron was formed 80 years ago and is made up of volunteers and provides glider training in the Grob G103A aircraft known as a Viking T1 and earlier this year Chris won the Squadron Cup.
And in recognition, he was asked by his commanding officer if he would like to enlist and represent the squadron, and he was happy to accept.
Janet said: “He spends as much time as he can on base and always works hard, and when he was asked he was so excited.
‘When we saw the trailer and he was in it looking like Prince Harry and something else, it was all over MailOnline.
‘I always thought he looked like Prince Harry, especially when he grew the beard and the resemblance is really striking, especially in uniform.
‘When I saw the photos, it really struck me. He has always loved the RAF and when he was younger he managed to fly a glider solo at the age of 16. He is really dedicated.
‘His commanding officer said they only had one place, and they offered it to Chris because he had done so well, but it was quite a job to sort out the uniform, which on the other side of London was a number one is mentioned.
‘He had to drive all the way from Monmouth to pick it up but he just loves the RAF and was happy to go.
‘We all watched the programme, but unfortunately you couldn’t see him during the performance. It was only for the trailer at the very beginning, but all his friends and colleagues saw him and have been calling him Harry ever since.
Dressed in his ceremonial uniform, Chris was a dead ringer for Harry, right down to the red beard and similar build and stature.

Other royals also in attendance included Zara Tindall, left, next to her pregnant cousin Princess Beatrice, right, and her husband Edo Mapelli Mozzi and his young son Wolfie.
‘He took it well and goes along with the joke: he hasn’t actually met any of the royals, but he thought he was sitting behind Richard on Richard and Judy’s show.
“He called me on Christmas Day and he said his phone just wouldn’t ring because people had read and seen it online.”
Chris told MailOnline: ‘It was a bit of a shock to wake up on Christmas Eve and see myself all over the news, when I don’t see the whole world.
“To be honest, I’ve never noticed the resemblance, but my mom has talked about it a lot since I grew my beard, but that’s mom for you.
‘I’ve received a lot of criticism from friends and I promised the guys in the squadron a case of beer, they all think it’s hilarious.
‘They call me Sergeant Harry and Sergeant Windsor and joke, but it’s all in good humour. Someone suggested that I should try my luck as a look-alike.
‘When I was there I got double looks from some of the police and security, but I’m not sure if that was because I look like Prince Harry.
‘The event was so moving and it was a privilege to be asked to take part, it was formal but informal at the same time.
‘I’ve never met Harry, in fact the only royal I’ve met was Prince Philip a few years ago. The only resemblance I can see to Harry is the red beard and the thinning hair.’
