Prince Harry and King Charles to meet for a second time ‘next week’: Duke of Sussex is ‘very keen’ to see his father on Invictus Games trip to London and has ‘kept regular contact’ with him after his cancer diagnosis – but he won’t be seeing his brother

Prince Harry will meet his father, King Charles, for the second time since his shock cancer diagnosis next week.

The Duke of Sussex will attend a ceremony at St Paul’s Cathedral to mark the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games, just two miles from where his father will simultaneously attend another event in London on Wednesday.

Days after the king’s diagnosis in February, the two spoke for about half an hour.

Harry, 39, is said to be ‘really keen’ to see his father during his trip to London and is said to have ‘kept in regular contact’ with Charles, 75, since announcing he had cancer.

After recently announcing he would resume his public duties, the King will attend the first garden party of the year at Buckingham Palace on Wednesday from 4pm.

The garden party and Invictus Games ceremony are both expected to end around 6pm, allowing the two to meet in person for the first time since February. Sun reports.

A source told the newspaper that while Harry is normally “5,000 miles away” from his father in California, it will be a “happy coincidence” that they will be just two miles apart on Wednesday.

“It’s clear he’s keen to see his father as he continues his recovery and most people are expecting another reunion of sorts next week,” the source added.

However, such a meeting is unlikely to include the presence of Prince William.

William is likely to be away from London on Thursday and has appointments in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly on Friday.

Meghan is not expected to be at St Paul’s Cathedral with Harry.

Another source told the Mirror that the Duke of Sussex has “kept in regular contact with his father” and “has made no secret of his desire to see him when he can.”

The source added that Harry was “particularly concerned” about his father and hopes he is well on Wednesday so they can see each other.

Royal sources told the newspaper that King Charles wants to see his son.

On Thursday, Harry will meet his wife Meghan in Nigeria, where they were invited to talk about the Invictus Games.

It is the couple’s first visit to the country in West Africa.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will then fly straight back to the US, without stopping in Britain.
