Prince Harry has lost 45 points and Meghan Markle 36 points in an opinion poll of US voters in just over a month amid the furor over Spare’s launch.

The couple, previously hugely popular in the US, plunged in the polls as Prince Harry launched a new attack on the royal family, revealing a host of intimate details, including how he lost his virginity in his revealing new memories.

Spare became the best-selling nonfiction book of all time on the day it was released earlier this month, topping sales charts around the world, including in the US, according to its publisher.

The new survey comes as Harry’s candid revelations and accusations about his family members, most notably his brother Prince William, have jeopardized the the family’s chance to put their differences aside at the coronation of Prince Charles III later this year.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have seen their approval ratings drop dramatically since early December.

Prince Harry's book, Spare, was published on January 10 and quickly became one of the best-selling nonfiction books in history.

New Redfield & Wilton survey for news week revealed that Prince Harry now has an approval rating of -7 on January 16, compared to +38 on December 5.

Meanwhile, Meghan Markle had an approval rating of -13, compared to +23 on December 5.

The poll, which was made up of 2,000 US voters, marks a serious setback in ratings for the couple, who moved to the country after stepping down from royal duties in March 2020.

On Monday, Prince Harry was liked by 31 percent of respondents and liked by 38 percent.

Meghan Markle was liked by 26 percent of respondents and disliked by 39 percent.

The survey also found that women liked Markle slightly less than men.

When asked if Harry was right to reveal intimate conversations with family members in the memoirs, 44 percent said he was wrong, and 26 percent said he was right.

Harry’s and Meghan’s approval ratings were unchanged at 37 percent and 38 percent of Americans, respectively.

The figure is surprising given the amount of news the couple has had in recent months, following the release of their Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan and Harry’s new book.

The Redfield & Wilton survey also found that only a third of the population had not heard anything about the book’s content.

It comes as the couple is becoming increasingly unpopular in the UK, with recent MailOnline polls revealing that 56 per cent of people believe they should lose all their royal titles and endorsements.

Among the young, the monarchy itself is also less and less welcome.

The Redfield & Wilton Strategies survey, on behalf of MailOnline, also reveals that Harry’s attacks on Charles, his brother William and sister-in-law Kate have not changed the public’s perception of them at all. Kate’s polls improved.

Prince Harry's popularity with the British public has plummeted to an all-time low, a YouGov poll suggested last week.

The Prince of Wales’ polls remain strong despite being accused of attacking his younger brother after a dispute in which he called Meghan “difficult” and “abrasive”.

Meanwhile, Prince Harry’s approval ratings fell to an all-time low of -44.

In the memoir, Prince Harry alleged that his brother pushed him into a dog bowl during the heated argument after he started dating Meghan, leaving him in “pieces”.

He claimed that he could tell that Prince William wanted him to hit him back, but he refused to do so. He added that his sister later apologized.

He also revealed personal details, such as how he lost his virginity to a younger woman in a field behind a pub.

In his new book, Harry claims that members of the royal household regularly report to the press, including negative articles about Meghan.

Harry has been criticized for sharing private conversations and intimate details about his family members.

However, the prince claimed that there are many other details that he chose not to share because “I just don’t want the world to know”, adding that his family may “never forgive him” if he did.

Harry has since challenged his family members to speak to him and apologize to Meghan, though it’s unclear why.

There is understood to be hope for peace talks between Prince Harry and his relatives ahead of his father’s coronation this summer.
