Prince Harry asked his friends and old flames to appear in his controversial upcoming autobiography, a source claims.

It was revealed this week that the Duke of Sussex’s highly anticipated book, entitled Spare, will be out on January 10.

Royal experts believe he will return to the UK to promote the book, which is expected to be read “nuclear” and highly critical of the royal family, before it is released.

Harry is believed to have contacted former friends, and even ex-girlfriends, and asked them to appear on his pages, with a source telling The sun that the prince asked his friends to talk to his ghostwriter, JR Moehringer.

However, it reports that most of them were “stunned” by the request – and politely declined.

“Harry held out his hand. Friends were polite and said they would think about it, but in the end most said no,” said the anonymous source.

“It was considered a bit ironic that Harry would hit the roof if he ever suspected they were talking to the media, but now he wants them to do so whenever he needs their help,” she added.

The Duke of Sussex, who tied the knot with Meghan Markle in 2018, had two high-profile relationships before meeting his current wife.

Cressida Bonas, with whom he was in a relationship for two years until 2014, and his first public girlfriend Chelsy Davy, whom he dated from 2004 to 2010, have ensured that they never spoke to the press about what the royal family’s name was like. in the years since their respective breakups.

It is unknown if they have been approached about the book.

However, Chelsy admitted that The times in 2016 that she struggled with the media attention surrounding her relationship.

She said, ‘Yeah, it was tough. It was so packed: crazy scary and uncomfortable.

“I found it very difficult when it was bad. I couldn’t handle it. I was young, I was trying to be a normal kid and it was terrible,” she added.

Senior royals would brace for the 416-page title to be published on January 10. Biographer Tom Bower has warned that the memoir’s reception will be a make-or-break moment for the Sussexes.

“It’s not going to be a relaxed family Christmas party, so to speak,” a source told the Mail on Sunday.

It is now claimed that Prince Harry had to submit his book more than once before it was accepted by publishers, raising fears that it would have been ‘bumped up’ with revelations about the royal family.

A source told The Sun: “The book has been going back and forth between Harry and… [ghost writer] JR Moehringer and the publishers several times. They wanted more than was in the first draft, and then Harry wanted to fine-tune things after the Queen passed away.

‘But there is extra tossing and turning that people don’t know about. This is because the publishers wanted to cover more areas and have more details about some of the stuff that was already included.

Prince William has ‘barely’ spoken to Harry since news of memoir title broke

Prince William has ‘barely spoken’ to Prince Harry since news broke about his brother Spare’s memoir, royal experts say.

The royal family is also apparently in suspense to read the memoir, which will be out on January 10, and to have lawyers ready.

Prince William, 40, has barely spoken a word with his brother Harry, 38, since news of the book broke.

The controversial book, billed as a work of “rough, unwavering honesty,” will be called Spare — a “loaded” reference to his position as the heir apparent’s younger brother.

Royal author Angela Levin said she thought the palace was “at odds” ahead of the book’s release.

“They have lawyers ready to read it, but they won’t see it until it’s out. If it’s too bland, it’s not worth the millions they’ve already paid him,” she told The Sun Online.

Details of the bombshell book were revealed and the description from publisher Penguin Random House read: ‘With its raw, unwavering honesty, Spare is a landmark publication full of insight, revelation, self-examination and hard-won wisdom about the eternal power of love over grief.

‘Spare immediately takes the reader back to one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the world watched in grief and horror.

“When Diana, Princess of Wales, was buried, billions wondered what the princes must be thinking and feeling — and how their lives would unfold from then on.”

Family members were not notified of the book’s title prior to the announcement yesterday, while the Spanish-language version is even edgier, subtitled En La Sombra, meaning ‘in the shadows’.

The publishers of the postponed memoir have made it clear that Harry does not shy away from sensitive subjects, such as the family’s decision to encourage him and his older brother Prince William to walk behind their mother Diana’s coffin.

He could also reveal which member of the monarchy he believes made a racist comment about the possible skin color of his then-unborn son Archie, or shed light on his strained relationship with his father and hard times with William.

The brothers have had a difficult relationship since Harry moved to the US with his wife Meghan Markle.

“There’s a real concern that it has forced Harry to devour the book and absorb revelations that even he might not be comfortable with.”

It is now reportedly feared that Harry will respond to a claim to Oprah Winfrey that a family member was wondering what the skin color of his and Meghan’s son Archie would be.

Publishers Penguin Random House say the book is written with “fearless honesty” and is expected to feature explosive new material about Harry’s childhood and his split from “The Firm” after meeting Meghan.

A source added: “The book is much worse than people think.”

Bower told The Sun, “This book is really make or break. I imagine King Charles has been warned that any retaliation will not be pretty.

“All King Charles can really do is withhold the titles from his grandchildren Archie and Lilibet. Ultimately, I think, he could also take the titles from Harry and Meghan, but that’s pretty drastic.

‘I don’t know what else he can do. If it’s as bad as I think it is, Harry and Meghan have gone wild.”

He added that the best thing the royal family could do in this scenario would be to cut ties with the couple.

The title is believed to refer to Harry as the ‘reserve’ of Prince William’s ‘heir’, but has been translated to sound more ominous in other languages.

In Spain it is called In The Shadow, in Sweden The Other and in Denmark The Reservist.

Harry will be recording the audio version himself, but voice actor Emily Woo Zeller warned: “Getting words off a page and making them sound like dialogue is a skill. I don’t know if Harry has that skill.’

Another source close to Prince Harry told the Telegraph last night that the Duke of Sussex wrote his controversial memoir for himself, rather than being a ‘draw from his family’.

It was described by those familiar with the manuscript as a “wonderful read” that readers from all walks of life will identify with.

The experience of tackling his past struggles would have been cathartic for Prince Harry.

The source said: ‘You can’t always live your life to make your family or your siblings happy.

“You have to choose your own happiness.”

It comes after it was reported Friday night that Prince Harry will not return to the UK to spend the first Christmas with his family since Queen Elizabeth II’s death amid controversy.

Sources close to the couple told The Mirror that the relationship between Harry and his wife Meghan and the rest of the royal family is “near rock bottom” and that they could decline an invitation to spend the holiday season with Harry’s family.

It was hoped relations would thaw somewhat after the Queen’s death, but sources told The Mirror the couple have “no plans” to travel to the UK over Christmas.

The rest of the royal family was reportedly surprised by the title of the memoir.

Another source told The Mirror that the book could spell ‘the end’ for any reconciliation attempts between the Sussexes and the royals: ‘This book could spell the end of any relationship Harry wants to have with his family, it’s desperately sad.’

An initial release date was slated for “late 2022” to take advantage of the lucrative Christmas market, but the book won’t hit shelves until January 10 — reportedly as a mark of respect after the Queen’s death, and so it goes. rumored, due to last minute changes requested by the Duke.

A spokesman for the king declined to comment on the book. But it’s clear the Royal House has already been warned that the £28 416 page book is ‘critical of everything and everyone’ and they ‘fear’ it.

The memoir has already topped the Amazon charts in the UK and US, and also reached number two in Canada, despite being published several months later.
