Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been labeled “Hollywood nobody” by a royal auteur after they apparently didn’t attend the Oscars parties.
For example, the couple, who reside in Montecito, California, were nowhere to be seen in Mister Elton John‘s AIDS Foundation’s 31st Annual Academy Awards Viewing Party, where Hollywood celebrities were seen dancing the night away.
Speaking to GB News yesterday, Tom Bower, author and royal pundit, suggested that the duke and duchess’s absence from the select event showed their influence in Hollywood is waning.
It is not known if the couple declined an invitation to the event or if they were simply removed from the guest list.
Speaking on television yesterday, Bower said: “They weren’t even invited to Elton John’s party at the Oscars.” They really are nobody in Hollywood!’

Sir Elton has been a constant support in Harry’s life, performing at his 2018 wedding to Meghan in Windsor.
Last year, the couple shared a personal message with Sir Elton John ahead of their farewell concert at Dodgers Stadium.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex appeared in a compilation video showing the stars paying tribute to Sir Elton ahead of the concert, which was streamed live on Disney+.
In the clip, which appeared to have been filmed in the couple’s Archewell offices, Prince Harry said: “Thank you for being the friend you were to my mother.” Thank you for being our friend, thank you for being our children’s friend.’
The couple said ‘Hello Elton’ before Meghan said: ‘We just wanted to congratulate you!
“We are very proud of you and very grateful to have been able to see you on your farewell tour as well.”
The couple were thought to be absent from this weekend’s bash, and royal author Tom Bower speculated they have limited influence in Hollywood (pictured December).
Harry said: ‘Thank you for entertaining everyone for so many decades. Thank you for being the friend you were to my mom.
‘Thank you for being our friend, thank you for being a friend to our children, and thank you for entertaining people all over the world.
“Although this is officially your retirement, this will not be your last concert and we know it. We love you and congratulations on your amazing career.’
The clip ended with Meghan placing her head on Harry’s chest and blowing a kiss at the camera.
The famous musician Sir Elton was a good friend of Harry’s late mother, Princess Diana, and maintained a close relationship with the duke after her death in 1997.
Sir Elton and his husband David Furnish were also among the many celebrity guests invited to Harry and Meghan’s wedding in May 2018.
The Sussexes visited the palatial £15m Castel Mont-Alban home, owned by Sir Elton John and David, overlooking the Promenade des Anglais while on holiday on the French Riviera in August 2019.

The trip to Nice came shortly after Harry and Meghan returned to the UK by private jet from Ibiza after a six-night break on the Spanish island to mark the duchess’s 38th birthday.
Elton later released a statement defending the couple, saying that he had paid for the private plane.
Described as a ‘rock’ to royal rebels, Sir Elton defended the couple following backlash over their use of four private jets in 11 days in 2019, calling Princess Diana one of his ‘dearest friends’ whose family ‘he felt a deep sense of the obligation to protect.’
Elton talks to Harry and Meghan every day. He is an inspiration, an almost “motherly” figure, a royal told the Mirror in 2020.
“He is a constant support, especially for Meghan, and is very protective of both of them,” they added.
While a source close to Sir Elton added: ‘He’s been his rock. So while he would never tell them what to do, he’s been a listening ear and support throughout.’
Filmmaker David, husband of musician Sir Elton, would serve as an executive producer on Meghan’s first animated series, Pearl.
While few details about the series were released, many believed the show was based, at least in part, on Meghan’s own childhood, citing how she named the show and its main character Pearl, the original meaning of her name.
David praised Meghan for her leadership skills while doing the show.
“She’s a fantastic collaborator, an incredible leader,” filmmaker David Furnish, 58, said on HELLO! Inspiration Awards.
“And we’re very, very excited to be working with, you know, someone as influential and supportive as Netflix.” However, the project ended up being cancelled.
