Prince Andrew is ‘crankier’ than usual due to his strict New Year’s diet he is following at the Royal Lodge amid the Jeffrey Epstein fallout.
Unsealed court papers in the US claim the Duke of York appeared in sex tapes secretly filmed by pedophile financier Epstein and took part in an orgy with minors – all of which he denies.
Andrew, 63, was reportedly locked up in his country home last week as he tried to lose some Christmas weight for the New Year.
A source said The sun: ‘Andrew was in a terrible mood and grumpier than usual.’
They added: It’s because he’s on a special diet. He hates it and it makes him irritable.’

The Duke’s journey to health comes after it was revealed in 2023 that King Charles, Andrew’s older brother, refused to fund his annual £32,000 bill for an Indian healer.
The male healer would stay at Royal Lodge for about a month and treat the Duke using methods such as massages and holistic therapy.
After returning from Windsor Castle to Royal Lodge on Saturday, Andrew apparently chose to ‘lock himself away’ to escape the fallout from the ongoing Epstein scandal.
It is believed that King Charles wants his brother Andrew out of the 31-room mansion where he has lived for 20 years. However, it is said that the Duke of York has a 75-year lease, which does not expire until 2078.

Newly released court documents allege Prince Andrew took part in an orgy with minors at Epstein’s private resort called Little St James, branded ‘pedophile island’.
Andrew has said he “regrets” his friendship with Epstein and denies the claims against him.
The royal family paid millions of pounds to Virginia Giuffre – who claimed she and Andrew had sex when she was 17 – in an out-of-court settlement in 2022, but did not admit liability.
