Nicolas Cage is once again joining the Spider-Verse, this time with his own show as Prime Video spinoff, Blackhas been officially announced.
Unveiled as part of Prime Video’s Upfront 2024 presentation in New York, Blackplayed by Nic Cage Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verseis getting its own live-action series based on the Marvel comic of the same name.
“Black tells the story of an aging and down-on-his-luck private investigator (Cage) in 1930s New York who is forced to grapple with his past life as the city’s one and only superhero,” Amazon said.

In a press releaseVernon Sanders, head of television at Amazon MGM Studios, said: “Expanding the Marvel Universe with Black is a unique, special opportunity and we are honored to bring this series to our global Prime Video customers.”
“The supremely talented Nicolas Cage is an ideal choice for our new superhero and veteran production team of Phil Lord, Christopher Miller and Amy Pascal. The incredible team at Sony is committed to expanding this franchise in the most authentic way possible.”
You know Phil Lord and Christopher Miller from the duo’s work for Sony Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse films, which brought Nic Cage into the role for the first time. Amy Pascal is present at all Sony’s Spider-Man adjustments.
However, Nic Cage wearing the Spidey suit is only a small part of Amazon’s own Spider-Verse, with a second known project previously announced as Side: Spider Society also in the making. Showrunner Angela Kang (The living Dead) is at the helm there.
Add that to more Spider-Man-but-without-Spider-Man universe movies in the form of Kraven the Hunter And Poison 3which will be released in the coming years, alongside rumors of a fourth Spider-Man MCU film reportedly on the way, and plenty of Spidey stuff being done.
