Prime Early Access Sale – dates leak for Amazon’s Prime Day 2 deals event

>

We’ve been hearing a lot of rumors in recent months about a possible Amazon Prime Day repeat later this year. And now it appears those rumors are at least partially true according to a new page on Amazon pointing to a Prime Early Access Sale set to take place in October.

Spotted for the first time by What HiFithe page in question lists some conditions (opens in new tab) related to a smart plug deal that will be available exclusively during the Prime Early Access Sale. One of these terms states that the purchase “must be made between 12:00 AM PT on October 11, 2022, and 11:59 PM PT on October 12, 2022.”

Based on that, we can reasonably assume that the Prime Early Access Sale will take place between October 11 – October 12 at Amazon US.

This is in line with the original rumors that first circulated in June. At the time, a leak revealed that Amazon was asking its retail partners to submit a selection of lightning deals for an event called “Prime Fall.” This strongly suggested that another Prime Day event was on the way with a selection of exclusive limited-time savings for members.

Amazon has not yet made any public announcements about a second Prime Day or the Prime Early Access Sale. It’s also unclear if it will hold a similar event in other regions at the same time. We’ve asked Amazon for comment and will share more news as soon as we hear back.

So, is this really Amazon Prime Day 2?

Honestly, we don’t think this Prime Early Access Sale will be as important as a full Amazon Prime Day. It may have all the hallmarks of another two-day bonanza available exclusively to Amazon Prime members, but our gut says this will be a more reserved affair.

There’s still a good chance that thousands of products will be discounted during the 48-hour sale, including high-demand items, top tech, Amazon devices, and more. Think of it more like the Amazon Epic Daily Deals event that was held last year and had a handful of good deals throughout the month.

But this time it’s more of a prelude to the retailer’s Black Friday deals in November with a number of offers available in advance if you’re an Amazon Prime member. Remember, you can sign up for a 30-day free trial on Amazon Prime (opens in new tab) if you haven’t done that before and this will cover you for the sale period.

When it goes live, we’ll be keeping a close eye on the Prime Early Access Sale here at Ditching to make sure you don’t miss out on any bargains before the big year-end sale is in full swing. You can follow our live Amazon sale blog for regular updates.
