The University of Connecticut men’s basketball team visited the White House Friday in recognition of its NCAA National Championship victory vs. the state of San Diego in April.

After previously hanging out with the LSU women’s basketball team, President Joe Biden closed out the sport on Friday by donning a blue tie and welcoming the UConn men’s championship team to his own celebration.

“Congratulations to the entire UConn nation,” Biden said.

The Huskies won their fifth national title by defeating San Diego State, 76-59, on April 3.

“This team is proof that there is no quitting in UConn, just like there is no quitting in America,” Biden added. ‘No.

Hours before UConn arrived, LSU was in the Oval Office, despite Angel Reese’s initial disinterest in attending.

Reese and her teammates gifted Joe an LSU jersey, as did UConn.

The ceremony was halted for about 10 minutes after forward Sa’Myah Smith appeared to collapse as she and her teammates lined up behind Biden.

A wheelchair was brought in and coach Kim Mulkey assured the crowd that Smith was fine.
