The Premier League will urge fans to behave ahead of the festive matches after a spate of incidents during recent matches.
On Sunday, Manchester United's team bus was hit by a bottle during the final 'welcome party' held by Liverpool supporters before the arrival of their opponents.
Damage was caused to the vehicle as United joined City and Real Madrid among the targets in recent times as they headed to Anfield.
Merseyside Police are investigating, with Liverpool promising anyone caught will face club sanctions.
And Mail Sport understands that top officials will now remind fans to 'act responsibly' when attending matches over the Christmas and New Year period.

Together with the FA and EFL, they launched a series of measures at the start of the season to improve behavior on and off the pitch.
However, apart from the bus attack, there have been cases of tragedies during matches, while before the East Anglia derby, Norwich co-owner Delia Smith's car was hit by objects as she approached Portman Road.
Some sections of Liverpool supporters have made a habit of loudly 'greeting' opposing coaches as they approach the stadium.
A video posted on social media showed the United bus making its way to Anfield through a crowd chanting 'Manchester is full of ****'. A glass bottle was then thrown against the moving vehicle. No windows were broken and no injuries were reported, although Erik ten Hag's team did notice an audible thud when the object hit the bus.
In 2021, Merseyside Police launched an investigation after the coach carrying Real Madrid players to the ground was damaged ahead of a Champions League match.
City said their bus was attacked outside Anfield last November, while Liverpool were fined in 2018 after City's bus was targeted before another European match.
A Liverpool spokesperson said: 'We are aware of footage of the incident circulating online and are working with Merseyside Police to fully investigate and identify those responsible.
'Anyone found guilty of this reprehensible behavior will also face the full force of the club's sanctions process.'
