A Premier League star was unrecognizable as he arrived for international duty and hid his identity behind a bizarre new fashion choice.

The arrival of a squad is often a time for players to show off their luxury fashion as they leave club football to join their international counterparts and one Liverpool star was brave with his choice.

Players called up by France manager Didier Deschamps arrived at the team’s national Clairefontaine headquarters in the north of the country on Monday ahead of upcoming Nations League matches.

Team captain Kylian Mbappe was absent from the proceedings as the Real Madrid star was left out of the team to recover from an injury, despite playing for his club this weekend.

Liverpool player Ibrahima Konate was among those in attendance with the rest of the Les Blues squad and caused a stir when he stepped out to reveal himself on Monday afternoon.

The Liverpool star arrived with a bizarre yellow hood covering his face

The centre-back, fresh from partnering Virgil van Dijk to a clean sheet win over Crystal that moved the Reds to the top of the table, stepped out with a strange yellow net covering his face.

Wearing a loose-fitting jacket and pants to match his style, Konate belatedly revealed his identity when he dramatically unzipped the hood that covered his entire face.

The 25-year-old appeared to enjoy his moment in the spotlight, smiling for the cameras before heading inside, but fans who criticized his choice on social media were less than impressed.

Konate will be hoping to get regular minutes on the international stage alongside Arsenal defender WIlliam Saliba in the upcoming matches against Israel and Belgium.

Meanwhile, Konate was hailed as one of the Premier League’s best defenders by Peter Crouch during a confident performance against Crystal Palace on Sunday.

“I mean, he’s as good as anyone around. I always look at the center halves and would I like to play against them?

‘Konate and Van Dijk. “I couldn’t think of many worse defenders to play against,” he said.
