The Premier League is accused of NEGLECTING fans after Manchester United rearranged two games at a time when it will be IMPOSSIBLE to travel home by train, with the club’s Supporters’ Trust claiming match-goers are not “the priority from no one”.
- Man United’s game at West Ham has been rescheduled for 7pm on Sunday.
- King Charles will be crowned the day before, leading to potential travel chaos.
- Away fans will have to leave early to catch the last train back to Manchester.
The Premier League and broadcasters have been accused of neglecting fans attending matches after they scheduled two of Manchester United’s away games in May at a time when it is impossible for away fans to travel home by train .
United’s rearranged game in Brighton will be played on Thursday May 4 at 8:00pm before they face West Ham at the London Stadium on Sunday May 7 at 7:00pm, the day after the King’s coronation Carlos.
Fans heading to both games face travel chaos as there are no return trains to Manchester after the Brighton game, and the last train home from London after the West Ham clash is at 9. :49 pm, which means fans will have to leave early to catch it.
Although the Brighton game was always likely to be in the middle of the week due to United’s congested fixture schedule, the decision to move West Ham’s trip to Sunday night has sparked anger among fans.
This is the second time Erik ten Hag’s team has moved to a 7:00 pm Sunday start time this season.

United will play Brighton at 8pm on a Tuesday and West Ham at 7pm on a Saturday, with no return trains to Manchester after full time for either game.
The Manchester United Supporters’ Trust said the decision showed that fans attending matches are “nobody’s priority”.
A Manchester United Supporters’ Trust spokesman told Sportsmail: “Only three years ago we were told that football without fans is nothing.”
‘These decisions show how quickly the football authorities forget. The fan who attends the games does not seem to be anyone’s priority in the programming of the games.’
The coronation will bring more grief to fans at that weekend’s games, and thousands are expected to flock to London to celebrate the historic occasion.
In a statement on Friday, the Premier League apologized for the delay in announcing its coronation weekend broadcast selections and said it “understood” fans’ frustration.
“Finalizing these particular selections took longer than expected due to complications surrounding the scheduling of Her Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen Consort’s Coronation weekend,” the Premier League added.
