Pregnant Shaughna Phillips plans to marry her secret boyfriend and jokes he can get ring from Argos

She announced last week that she is expecting her first child.

And Shaughna Phillips has revealed she plans to marry her secret boyfriend now that she’s carrying his baby.

But the pregnant Love Island star, 28, added she would be happy to have a land registry and ring from Argos to keep things cheap.

She also revealed that she and her private partner have known each other since their teenage years, but that their relationship only became romantic after the end of the lockdown.

Speak with OKAY! MagazineShaughna said, “I said to him the other day, ‘I’m so glad you got to marry me now that we’re having a baby.’ But yes, sure. However, I feel like having a baby is much more of an obligation.

“I used to think, ‘We should get married,’ but now that we’ve bought a house and we know how much things cost, I’m like, ‘Take me to the registry office and ask me for an Argos ring. !”‘

The star, who has not revealed the identity of her boyfriend, has been with the businessman since 2020.

About her beauty, she said: ‘I’ve known him for years. We knew each other teenagers and we were in the same circles. But we’ve both had partners and it’s never really been the right time.

“We were friends beforehand and then we got together romantically around the summer of 2020. It was around the time things reopened after the lockdown and we were able to mingle. And then we went back to multiple lockdowns and he moved into my flat. So we’re quite accelerated.’

Elsewhere in the chat, Shaughna talked about her pregnancy journey so far, admitting that while she “feels a little fat,” the illness and symptoms weren’t that bad in the first trimester.

She shared that she already has a baby name in mind, with sweet reasoning behind it, admitting she will be naming the baby after both her boyfriend and her father.

Shaughna explained that she has experienced minor illness and even “carries a sick bag” just in case – but otherwise not too exhausted with pregnancy symptoms.

And revealing that she already has baby names in mind, Phillips plans to sweetly pay tribute to her late father Eddie, who died of cancer in 2016.

She told the publication: “I have two names. If it’s a boy, I’ll name him after his father. I’m also going to give him my father’s middle name, which is Edward, but people called him Eddie.

“And I got my name for a girl – I’m keeping it a secret because I don’t want anyone to steal it!” she continued — after admitting she’s hoping for a baby girl.

And when she discussed the changes in her body since she got pregnant, she explained, “I feel a little fat. But other than that I’m fine. I have found the pregnancy quite easy so far. I haven’t been sick very often.’

Earlier this week, Shaughna confessed she has “absolutely no idea what she’s doing” during her pregnancy, hours after announcing she’s expecting her first child.

And while sharing details about her boyfriend, Shaughna revealed that the couple have known each other for years, before breaking up romantically in 2020.

On Instagram Stories, the Love Island star admitted she struggled to keep her news a secret before her announcement on Wednesday, and she can’t wait to discuss her pregnancy with her followers.

It comes after Shaughna shared the exciting news that she was expecting her first child with her secret boyfriend of six months, just days after she appeared to pass out at the National Television Awards.

In her video, Shaughna discussed her pregnancy with her followers as she lay in her bed, confessing how she “went along” to avoid blurting out her news.

She said, “I really don’t think you understand how hard it has been for me not to talk about what I’ve been through.

“I just went MIA, I feel like I can’t lie and I just wrote it on my forehead so I was supposed to be missing.

“But I’m back now, can’t wait to talk to you about it, it’s been the greatest thing in the world. Back with a bang, or a baby!

“I have absolutely no idea what I’m doing. I have no idea what to do now, I’m just glad it’s out. I feel so much better, so much lighter!”

Shaughna, who was featured in the winter spin-off of Love Island in 2020, shared the news of her pregnancy with her Instagram followers on Wednesday night and posted a short video echo of the growing fetus after a check-up.

She also shared a short clip of her positive pregnancy test shortly after discovering she was carrying a first child with her boyfriend, whose identity has not been released.

She explained: “If anyone saw my ‘exit’ from the NTAs. I wasn’t drunk, I almost passed out.

‘I don’t know what happened to me. I just had an absolutely dodgy turn and had to take off my shoes and be helped by my manager and now I’m in bed.

“Just in case someone saw it and thought ‘damn, she’s seen better days’ – correct – but I wasn’t drunk.” [sic]

A source told The Sun: ‘Shaughna said she felt unwell and then passed out. It was really worrisome for everyone with her.

“She was looked after and then sent back to her hotel. Shaughna was quite upset by it all. It was terrible to happen.’

In April, Shaugna confirmed that she is dating a new mystery man and is glad he wants to stay out of the public eye.

The reality personality said it would be “weird” if he wanted the attention she gets, but admitted he was a perfect fit with her two French Bulldogs Biggie and Bunnie.

She told the So this is growing up podcast: ‘I dated someone who is also a surrogate father for my fur babies.’

When asked if her new boyfriend was famous, Shaughna continued, “No, no, no…I always said” [to my dates]”I’d like to keep my relationship private, if that’s okay with you?”

‘And if they said, ‘oh no, why keep my private?’ I’m like, red flag. But this guy said, “I never want to be out in the public eye anyway,” and I was like, I like that answer.

“Since then, we’ve gotten stronger and stronger, and I like that because anyone who chooses to let everyone know what they’re doing, like me, is weird.”

Shaughna starred in the sixth season of Love Island and went into the villa for the first time with Callum Jones.

However, their brief relationship ended after Callum brought Molly Smith back from a stay at Casa Amor.

She was later dumped from the villa when Luke Mabbott mated with Demi Jones instead of her.
