‘Oh my God. All the time,” she admitted. “What’s wild is that we still live in this era where sexuality and pregnancy are so different. “He’s an angel,” she gushed. Literally cooks me every meal, brings me water, is so, so sweet. He’s been so nice, and he’s just so excited to be a dad, and we’re both so happy to meet whoever this little person is. I couldn’t have wished for a better partner, and he’s going to be such a great father.”
Since they were both entertainers – just like her parents, while stepmother Emma Heming Willis is a model – she was naturally asked if her child would possibly follow in the family’s footsteps as an entertainer or artist.
Fortunately, she and Derek were on the same wavelength and wanted the kid to chart the course they were passionate about.
‘Whatever you want to do, how can we support you? How can I expose you to so many things? Do you want to take an art class? Do you want to make pottery? Do you want to play music? Whatever you want,’ she said.
When asked about the best advice Demi and Bruce gave her, Rumer said they told her to learn how to take the punches.
“You have no control over anything and just have a lot of mercy with yourself,” she recalled of them advising.
