Heavily pregnant Channel Nine newsreader Mia Glover suffered an awkward moment on live television when she celebrated her maternity leave at a crime scene.
The 35-year-old, popular star of the Today breakfast program, filmed her final live crossing on the Gold Coast before she prepares for the birth of her second child, a daughter, with husband Paul.
But what should have been a touching farewell quickly turned into a bizarre moment when she happily said goodbye while a burglar was taking place.
The 9News weekend anchor was stunned to see her husband and their 4-year-old son Albert arrive on set with flowers as she covered the macabre scene.
Presenters Karl Stefanovic and Sarah Abo said goodbye to the Sydney reporter and laughed at the strange location Mia found herself in.
While Mia was standing at a crime scene in Ormeau, reporting on a late-night burglary at a local tobacco shop, the conversation took an unexpected turn.
As police combed the cordoned-off area behind her, Karl, 50, and Sarah, 38, chatted cheerfully with Mia about her maternity leave.
During the conversation, she was presented with a bouquet of flowers, as well as a small romper with the Today logo embroidered on it, while she held her baby bump.

Mia was then joined by her husband Paul and their son Albert. The little family celebrated and giggled in front of the crime scene behind them.
“Awesome luck for a crime scene in Queensland, says it all about Queensland, right?” Karl joked.
The crime Mia reported on involved a gang of criminals who drove a pickup truck into a business on Peachey Road around 3 a.m. to rob the ATM.

The perpetrators dragged the machine outside, stole the money and fled in a white Toyota HiLux. Police investigated the scene while Mia said goodbye.
Mia and Paul welcomed their first child, son Albert, in December 2019.
This will be her second pregnancy and the reporter is expecting a girl soon.
“This is going to be a mini version of myself, which is kind of crazy… I don’t know if the world is ready for it,” she joked.
