Pregnant Margot Robbie exudes glamour at Wimbledon’s Centre Court nine years after she had to watch the tournament from the field outside during her Clapham house share days

Margot Robbie showed how much times can change as she and husband Tom Ackerley took to the star-studded Centre Court at Wimbledon on Friday.

The 34-year-old actress, who made her first public appearance since announcing the couple were expecting their first child, joined a host of other A-list stars nearly a decade after watching the tournament from the outside court.

Margot looked amazing as a pregnant woman in a polka dot dress, carefully covering her baby bump. She accessorized with black heeled mules, a bowling bag, and sunglasses.

Meanwhile, Tom, also 34, opted for a beige polo shirt and trousers and went out with the gorgeous Barbie star.

As they took their seats next to Hugh Grant and his wife Anna Elisabet Eberstein, the couple appeared more concerned with showering each other with affection than watching the game.

In 2015, during a break in filming Suicide Squad, Margot watched the tournament with friends while drinking Pimms, after apparently failing to get a ticket.

Margot, who was living in a low-rent house in Clapham at the time, wore a tennis shirt and a broad smile as she wrote: ‘Pimms in the park’.

The actress and her friends, including Tom, signed a lease on a dilapidated four-bedroom house, ironically called The Manor.

Although she was already a household name thanks to her starring role opposite Leonardo Di Caprio in the 2013 Hollywood blockbuster The Wolf Of Wall Street, Margot preferred a ‘student life’.

‘We thought, “Wouldn’t it be funny if we all lived together?” Margot explained: ‘Someone said, “But you don’t live in London,” and I said, “I don’t live anywhere. I’ll move.”‘

“Those were the best days of my life,” she said. “For me, where you live and what you do has to be simple and comfortable, otherwise how can you ever relax?

‘Clapham has always had a humble feel to it, in the sense that you are left alone and you can be who you are, which I think is perfect.

“Everyone’s drunk and so sweaty. Everyone looks a mess,” she explained. “By the time I get to Infernos, I’ll look so disgusting that no one will look again.”

It was on the sticky dance floor of Infernos and while hungover on Clapham Common that Tom and Margot’s friendship blossomed into something bigger.

However, Margot admitted that she and Tom initially decided to keep their romantic relationship to themselves.

“We kept it a secret. Because we didn’t really take it seriously. ‘Oh, whatever, we’re just buddies, we’re just buddies.’ And then… everyone found out,” she explained.

When her friends found out, she said, “It was dramatic. I won’t go into the details, but the shit hit the fan. Our house turned into The Jerry Springer Show for a little while. But then the dust settled and it was all good.”

The housemates got on so well that in 2015 four of them – Margot, Tom, Sophia Kerr and Josey McNamara – set up the production company Lucky Chap, now worth an estimated £25million.

Margot and her husband Tom say they are relieved that the news of their pregnancy has come out, as it was revealed early in their relationship that they ‘really wanted’ to become parents.

According to the magazine’s sources, ‘the couple had wanted to start a family for quite some time’. People on Tuesday.

The exciting news was confirmed earlier this week and the power couple is thrilled with it as they now focus on their first-time parenthood.

An insider told the magazine: ‘Family means a lot to both of them and they knew early on in their relationship that they really wanted to be parents.

“They kept it a secret for a while, but are happy that the news is out.”
