Pregnant Jennie McAlpine Opens Up About Baby’s Sex, Reveals She’s Due By Easter

Beloved soap opera star and pregnant actress Jennie McAlpine revealed that she and her husband Chris Farr still don’t know the gender of their unborn child on Friday’s Loose Women.

The 38-year-old Coronation Street alum, who has played Fizz Stape on the show since 2002, said the couple decided to keep the gender a surprise until the birth.

Although she couldn’t share the baby’s gender, Jennie told the Loose Women panel that she would give birth at Easter.

She said, ‘They’ll be my little Easter chicks.’

Despite her excitement, she also admitted that she had been given a few words of caution about being welcomed as a third child into the world.

She said: ‘When you have one, it’s nice, two is chaos and three, no one wants to babysit. ‘

“They say chaos doesn’t triple, it just gets more chaotic.”

In addition to having life-changing events in her real life, her on-screen persona recently delighted fans by marrying her on-screen partner, Tyrone Dobbs, on Christmas Day.

However, Corrie’s favorite told the panel that she didn’t enjoy filming the wedding scene, as she doesn’t like being the center of attention.

She explained that her strong aversion to attention is the reason she and her husband Chris decided to elope in 2017.

She said: “I know it sounds weird as an actress, but I don’t enjoy being in the spotlight.”

“Corrie is usually like a great team, but when you’re the bride you feel a little more exposed. I didn’t have a big wedding with a lot of guests in real life and I think an element of [feeling exposed] played a role in that.’

Despite her character Fizz being adored by Corrie fans across the country, Jennie revealed that her eight-year-old son Albert wasn’t impressed by his famous mom.

She quipped: “Albert is obsessed with football, if I’m not part of the starting XI I’m not relevant to him.”

Fizz fans may be disappointed to learn that they won’t be seeing many family photos after the birth, as the star revealed that he deleted his social media accounts.

While he did say he had some trolls, he insisted that wasn’t the reason he removed it.

She said: “Some people made horrible comments, like everyone, but that’s not why I got rid of it.”

‘I never liked social media. I’ve never understood it and I’m a bit crap with technology… I feel so much better without it.’

Jennie announced that she was expecting her third child on January 2.

The actress, who is six months pregnant, said OKAY! magazine: ‘It just feels great. We are so over the moon. The idea of ​​adding to our family mix and mayhem was the best Christmas present ever! I am very excited for 2023, it will be special.’

She explained how she found out the news about her baby while enjoying a camping trip with Chris and their kids.

Feeling nauseous, the former I’m A Celebrity campmate decided to take a pregnancy test and soon realized she had a bun in the oven for about five weeks.

Their daughter’s name, Hilda, was inspired by Corrie’s character, Hilda Ogden, played by the late Jean Alexander.

And this time, the soap opera star has confessed: ‘I can probably guarantee that whatever name we choose, it will have been a character in Corrie, I don’t know how to help it!’

Jennie continued to work through her latest pregnancy and revealed the creative way the producers managed to hide her growing baby bump in the ITV soap.

‘We started with a mug and then moved on to a bag and last week, I kid you not, with a Ford Fiesta!’ he told him about Lorraine.

She explained with a laugh that the producers would ask for a car to be moved further down the street for the sole purpose of covering her belly.

The TV personality added that she only has a few weeks of filming left before she goes on maternity leave.
