Pregnant Hilary Duff’s husband Matthew Koma undergoes a vasectomy as the couple prepare to welcome their third child
Hilary Duff’s husband Matthew Koma had a vasectomy while she was pregnant with their third child.
The actress, 36, who has 11-year-old son Luca with first husband Mike Comrie and Banks, five, and Mae, two, with Matthew, is apparently done adding her brood after her other half had the surgery for permanent contraception for men .
A vasectomy, or male sterilization, is a procedure in which the tubes containing a man’s sperm are cut to permanently prevent pregnancy without further contraception.
He documented his day in the hospital with his social media followers. Along the way, he captioned a car selfie: “It’s vasectomy day!!!”
All dressed up in hospital, he told his followers: ‘I just took a Valium and I felt hyped.’

Matthew shared a photo of himself after the procedure and wrote: ’10/10 Would recommend’
He insisted it was less painful than he expected.
Matthew said: “It’s honestly not bad at all. That’s certainly better than going to the dentist.’ The 36-year-old added: ’10/10 Would recommend.’
He later admitted that he felt “very high” and that he had never touched a drug in his life.
Matthew also shared a photo of Hilary walking him home after the procedure, along with the caption: “Hot nurse.”
Matthew is a singer-songwriter known for his collaborations with Tiësto, Zedd and Sebastian Ingrosso, among others.
He and Hilary got engaged in May 2019 and married in December after three years of dating.
The former Lizzie McGuire star announced their baby news on Instagram with a post showing off her family’s 2023 Christmas card.
Hilary included the phrase “So long for silent nights” on the front of the card, which featured a photo of the actress at home with Matthew and the kids cradling her baby bump in sleepwear.

On the back of the card, the former Disney Channel star declared that she would be “adding one more to this crazy bunch!”
Hilary also captioned her post: “Surprise Surprise!”
Despite the challenges that parenthood brings, Hilary admits she wouldn’t have it any other way.
She told WHO magazine: ‘I can’t imagine not being a parent. But I don’t always like them… it’s definitely exhausting. It is also the best and most rewarding.”
Hilary recently admitted she misses her pre-pregnancy body when she shared a throwback photo online.
Alongside the mirror selfie photo, she wrote, “I know I’m becoming a human but I miss this part of myself.”
The How I Met Your Father alum pulled her blonde locks back into a low bun with a center parting.
She was decked out in gold jewelry, including chunky hoop earrings and a chain link necklace.
A dark gray bag was tucked under her arm as the couple stood outside their car in a parking garage.
Last June Hilary spoke with Form about raising three children.
“I had to get really good at being disappointed in myself,” she told the publication.
She added, “I think when you have a baby you just think that you have all the answers and possibilities, and that we’re still only human.”
The proud parent also noted that motherhood is “endlessly rewarding,” sharing, “I love watching my children develop into their own unique selves.
“I love (parenting) with my husband. I love feeling like hugs and snuggles can make everything better. I like the pressure of saying, “How are we going to get through this day?”
‘And get through the day and say, ‘I don’t know how everyone feels laid out and fed and happy after all the things we had to do today.'”
