Nearby resident Iris Alvarez said Escobar had gone to visit her daughter around 1:00 p.m. on the Monday before the incident.

‘He texted my daughter and said to my daughter, ‘Please help me! I’m in trouble!” Alvarez told News4. But my daughter was sleeping.

It is not clear what situation Escobar was in.

Witnesses said she was with a group of people when she tried the car, and that they also fired shots in the altercation.

Everyone involved in the incident fled the scene after Escobar’s body was dumped.

“They dumped a bunch of money on her,” Alvarez said. I don’t know if she was in some kind of trouble.

“I don’t care how much trouble you’re in,” Alvarez said. “I feel like for a person to do that to someone, they don’t have a heart.”
