Alongside a plethora of photos of his mother over the years, he wrote: “My mother would have been 80 today, she passed away last night. I am carried away by sadness and grief. I was very close to my mother, she was simply the best mother anyone could have.
“She loved Christmas and she made ours so special and memorable as children. A sweet, generous and gentle lady. A mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Also a true friend to many she knew.’
Speaking further about his beloved mother, he continued: “She had problems with terrible arthritis and challenging mental health later in life, but she never lost her friendly smile and loving nature.
‘My mother was kind, thoughtful and always kind to people; honest, hardworking and loved her family/friends very much. Things in life that we should all strive for. Qualities that make the world a better place.
‘I hope she is now with her mum and dad (Alice and Ozzie) and her dog Holly. No more pain, no more pain.”
The sad death comes just two years after Charlotte announced the death of her grandmother Jean.
The reality star opened up about how she was left ‘heartbroken’ after the death of her ‘brave’ grandparent as she shared a sweet video montage.
The death came just a month after Charlotte welcomed her first child, Alba Jean, into the world via caesarean section, who she named after her relative.

In the caption of her post, she wrote, “My little grandma Jean Heartbroken doesn’t come close to how I feel. The love of my life and the light of my life.’
“From a little girl until now, I have adored every inch of you. My brave strong grandmother. My beautiful grandmother. You were there when I entered the world and I was there when you breathed your last and left
“I don’t think my world will ever be the same without you. I named my daughter after you for a reason, Nana. I don’t think you will ever truly know how much I loved and adored you and still do.
‘So many memories and this video is just a glimpse of them and it’s where I can constantly watch and relive them, it’s where I can visit you whenever I want
“What I’d give for one more day, one more hour with you even. I miss you grandma, I hope to see you again someday because I’m already longing to hear you say ‘hello my love’ when I come in to see you
“Please hold on tight to your loved ones because life is truly very precious.”

The family tragedy comes at a difficult time for Charlotte as she recently ‘lived in fear’ after her £1million mansion was raided.
Charlotte, who is eight months pregnant, was upstairs with her daughter Alba when a gang of balaclava-masked robbers entered her £1million Sunderland home last month.
One of the attackers reportedly carried a machete as her fiancé Jake Ankers, 34, went to chase the four robbers from their home.
The couple have since called in heavy security in the wake of the scare she said she’s not taking any chances with her and her family’s safety after admitting she’s ‘living in fear’ and telling fans how she’s ‘tripled’ her safety.
The pregnant star has since revealed her daughter Alba, two, is struggling to settle down at night after the terrifying home invasion robbery last month.
The reality star confessed she had a sleepless night with the toddler, as she admitted she seemed restless and ‘scared’ and had been clinging to both her and her fiancé Jake.
Charlotte looked cozy on her Instagram Story in all-black knitwear from her clothing brand Pepper Girls Club and cradled her bump as she wrote: “I had a completely sleepless night last night with my little alba.”
The star explained: ‘She hasn’t settled down well since she got back, I don’t no [sic] Whether that’s because she’s been away with us and we’ve all been together all the time, or whether it’s just because she’s been a little scared in the house since what happened.

“She’s stuck so close to both our sides when we’re home and it’s really not like her. Normally she’s playing wildly with all her toys.’
She shared her concerns with her 8.7 million followers, admitting that she is worried about her daughter and is exhausted as she prepares to welcome her second daughter next month.
She continued, “I’m a little worried about her and fully prepared for another night by her side so I can calm her down when she wakes up.
“That girl really is my life, I will do everything I can to make her feel comfortable and safe.”
