The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom puts the eponymous princess front and center after Link gets lost in a mysterious chasm. Despite the protagonist shift, this game shares a lot of DNA with modern Zelda titles. For one, the aesthetic is very reminiscent of 2019 Link’s Awakening remake. But the game also seems to adopt the more open-ended system design of Tears of the Kingdomwith Zelda’s magical wand (the Tri Rod), which allows her to create echoes of in-game objects and enemies.

Even based on the official trailers, it seems like things are going to get pretty bizarre — like “making a stack of old beds to climb castle walls” is bizarre. We’re pretty sure players will find even wilder scenarios when the game launches on September 26th.
