Powerball Results: Moment winner collects her huge prize in Sydney

  • A lottery winner has rejoiced at her windfall
  • The woman won a division two prize of over $800

A woman waved her money to victory after winning a second division Powerball award.

She was spotted counting her winning wads at the Rosebery North Newsagency in Sydney’s inner southern suburbs on Friday.

“Just let me do this property,” she told a Sunrise crew as she flipped through her wads of cash before waving the prize money in the air.

“Look, win, win, win, win.”

She had won over $800 as part of a 61-person syndicate sharing $50,000 in prize money.

“Look, win, win, win, win,” said one of the winners of the second division (pictured).

Meanwhile, only two winning tickets shared the Powerball $100million Division one prize, but one of the winners still doesn’t know they’re a multimillionaire.

The winning numbers for Draw 1420 on Thursday night are 13, 7, 18, 1, 23, 25, 33 and the Powerball is 7.

One of the tickets was purchased by a ten-person syndicate from Sydney’s Rosebery North Newsagency.

But the Lott has still not been able to contact the second winning ticket holder who did not provide full contact details when purchasing the entry online.

Spokeswoman Anna Hobdell said the second winner probably had no idea they were sitting on a goldmine.

“Imagine going to bed tonight not knowing you just won $50 million? That’s the reality for a Victorian player after scoring a share of the Division One prize in tonight’s Powerball draw!’ she said.

‘That’s why we encourage everyone in Victoria to check their submissions as they could be the multi-millionaire we’re looking for!

A member of the 10-member syndicate claiming the other $50 million share said he was watching sports when he got the call.

‘Are you serious? I won $5 million? I’m in shock. You changed my life,” he said.

“I’m watching football right now and I had no idea who was calling.”

Anna Hobdell of the Lott said queues had formed at outlets across the country on Thursday as punters rushed to get a last-minute ticket before the draw closed at 7.30pm

Another of the lucky 10-member team said their wife burst into tears.

‘It’s unbelievable! My wife is crying.’

‘I no longer have a mortgage and my retirement will be a lot easier.’

There were also 49 Division 2 winners who took home a tidy $40,880 each.

This week’s Draw 1420 is the co-equal jackpot of all Australian lottery games this year, coming after five draws without a Division One winner
