A lucky Australian has become an overnight millionaire after closing the full $50 million Powerball just a month before Christmas.

The winning numbers for Thursday night’s draw 1384 were 6, 9, 14, 25, 27, 31, 33 and the Powerball was 15.

The entire $50 million jackpot was taken home by one winner.

Details on who won the mega Powerball are scarce, but the ticket was bought in the ACT or in NSW.

In Division Two, 26 lucky winners will split more than $811,000 among them, each taking home $31,222.55.

The draw comes just weeks after a group of 20 miners took home $53.3 million in the nation’s largest Powerball jackpot to date.

The $160 million mega Powerball in October was won by just three lucky winners, each of whom ended up about $53 richer.

The syndicate said a rainbow had formed over their mining site just before the life-changing win, and one joked it was their “pot of gold.”

The Kalgoorlie-Boulder miners in Western Australia spent $100 each on the $160 million Powerball draw in a “spur of the moment” decision to band together as a syndicate for the first time.

The group originally thought they had won the division two prize before the ticket holder proclaimed that they were in fact division one winners.

Syndicate members said they planned to spend their winnings on early retirement, vacations and pampering their families.

The syndicate joined a Western Sydney dad and a Victorian grandfather as the winners of the three division prizes in the $160 million Powerball draw.

Sydney’s father said he almost missed taking part in the draw and had to run out at the last minute to grab a ticket.

This is great,” he told Lotto officials when he learned he had won.
