One lucky Australian has started 2025 as a new multi-millionaire after a huge Powerball win.
The winner of the Mystery Division 1 took home a whopping $20,809,257.29 in Thursday night’s drawing.
Their entry contained all seven winning numbers plus the all-important Powerball.
Two division two winners each earned $241,154.45, while the 57 division three winners are now $10,519.80 richer.
The winning numbers for drawing 1494 are 21, 27, 9, 22, 15, 18 and 8. The Powerball was 19.
The latest Powerball win comes as three Sydneysiders shared a $12 million jackpot ahead of Christmas last month.

The Lott recorded 422 Division I winners in 2024, including 19 Powerball entries that earned more than $758 million in prize money.
During this time, Powerball offered a $200 million jackpot, the largest in Australian history, and an Adelaide man who won $150 million became the country’s biggest individual lottery winner.
Of the 19 Powerball division one winning entries in 2024, eight were from NSW, six from Victoria, three from Queensland and one each from South Australia and Western Australia.
The next Powerball jackpot on January 9 is worth $4 million.
