Power Grid Corp. announced Thursday that it has acquired two special project vehicles from PFC Consulting Ltd.

The two SPVs are Sirohi Transmission Ltd and Beawar-Mandsaur Transmission Ltd, a statement from the company said.

Sirohi Transmission will implement a scheme comprising construction of a new 765/400 kV substation near Sirohi in Rajasthan, 765 kV and 400 kV DC transmission lines and associated extension works to existing substations in the state.

Beawar-Mandsaur Transmission will implement a system consisting of construction of a 765 kV D/C transmission line and associated extension works at existing substations in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.

Both transmission systems must be put into service within 24 months.

POWERGRID, through its various project SPVs, implements transmission system projects on a build, own, operate and transfer (BOOT) basis.

These projects will expand India’s transmission infrastructure to bring green energy to the national grid, reducing dependence on fossil fuels. This is in line with the government’s vision to achieve a renewable energy target of 500 GW by 2030.
