Potionomics, a game about capitalism and kissing cuties, is getting a huge update

Potionomics has remained one of my favorite small business simulators in recent years thanks to its clever mix of deck building, management simulation, witty dialogue and fantastic character design. While the game was excellent when it received its last update almost two years ago, developer Voracious Games has made fans giddy with another free update that includes a stack of fan-requested features and quality of life improvements.

The update introduces two new difficulty settings that let you customize the gameplay for a more relaxing or intense experience, and an endless mode that you can use after completing the main storyline. However, you may want to consider starting a new save file; the impressively animated characters have been enhanced with the introduction of full voiceovers for each of their respective story beats. The developers have also made the game friendlier for handheld users by adding controller support.

Voracious Games has also added a ‘Free Love’ mode, which lets you unleash your desire for uncontrolled, queer-as-hell romance instead of being tied to a single member of your community. Launching alongside the free update is Potionomics‘ first piece of DLC, the $4.99 Boss Finn content pack that adds a new relationship path with the anthropomorphic megalodon, Boss Finn.

In PotionomicsYou divide your time between buying ingredients, brewing drinks, building relationships and negotiating with locals, all while trying to keep your business running and your stress under control. It’s a great next game for fans of titles like Beer and breakfast, Liquor licenseor Moonstone Island.
