Wild footage of a violent altercation between a postman and a cyclist on the side of the road has divided Aussies over who was really in the wrong.
Codey Lamos saw the two men fighting beneath his apartment building on Old Coach Road in Mudgeeraba, on the Gold Coast, around midday on Friday.
Mr. Lamos told it According to Daily Mail Australia, a punch to the postman’s side mirror caused the violence, but it was the postman who started it.
“I heard old buddy [the cyclist] He said he was cut off and something was thrown at his face,” he recalled.
‘Than [the cyclist] followed the postman into the complex and I recorded that.’
Mr Lamos understands that just before the standoff a projectile had been thrown at the cyclists’ faces and drawn blood.
The footage showed a cyclist with his Lycra largely unzipped approaching the side of a mail van and hitting the mirror.
The postman then jumped out of the driver’s seat and ran towards him.

The cyclist then raised his fists, unleashed a string of expletives and invited the driver to “give it a try.”
As the postman tried to get back into his van, the cyclist tried to close the door on his legs, prompting the driver to get back out of the vehicle.
The men continued to exchange blows, with the postman at one point throwing his scanner at the man before finally admitting defeat.
When the postman got back into his car, the cyclist closed the door on him again, but this time he drove away.
The Aussies were divided over who was to blame as someone sided with the cyclist.
‘Half the drivers don’t look and don’t care what they’re doing, I had one stop in front of me the other day while he was on the phone, with my grandchildren in the car. He didn’t care,” one woman wrote.
Others, however, jumped to defend the position.

‘Cyclists are always wrong. Even though the law says that they are always right,’ says someone.
‘I know the postman came out on top, but I still feel sorry for him. No one should be treated like this at work,” one person wrote.
“Postie was torn between losing his job or losing his patience,” a third said.
“Imagine if you waited all day for a delivery and this was the reason you didn’t receive your package,” a fourth joked.
Queensland Police said they were unaware of the incident.
