Port Melbourne: Young boy, 13, injured in alleged hit-and-run by driver in black ute

A teenage boy has been injured after a car hit him in an alleged crash.

The 13-year-old was walking on Bay Street in Port Melbourne when he was struck by a black ute at around 6.10pm on May 5.

The teen was taken to hospital after suffering minor injuries.

The driver of the ute appeared to stop for a moment, but offered no assistance and quickly drove away.

Some grainy footage after the incident took place showed the black ute leaving the scene.

In the video, released by police on Thursday, the teen is seen on a traffic island in the middle of an intersection.

The 13-year-old appears to be limping after being hit.
