Mom admits to the triple murder of her children, aged 10, seven and five months, by burning them in hell

  • Margaret Hawke admits to murdering her three children in court on Wednesday
  • The charred remains of the children were recovered from their home in Port Hedland in July.
  • Hawke, 36, also admitted to a charge of criminal damage by arson.
  • He could face life behind bars when he faces a sentencing hearing in 2023.

Margaret Dale Hawke, 36, has been charged with the murder of her 10-year-old daughter, seven-year-old son and five-month-old son and will appear before Perth Magistrates Court today.

A mother has admitted to killing her three children who perished in a house fire in the western Australian city of Port Hedland.

A 10-year-old girl and two boys, ages seven and five months, were found dead inside the Anderson St property by firefighters responding to the blaze on July 19.

The children are not being named for cultural reasons.

His mother, 36-year-old Margaret Dale Hawke, was charged with three counts of murder and one count of criminal damage by arson.

Court records indicate he pleaded guilty to all charges during an appearance at Stirling Gardens Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.

Hawke was taken into custody and could face life in prison when she is sentenced next year.

Hawke was hospitalized at Hedland Health Campus after the fire before being airlifted to Perth for further specialist treatment.

Dozens of neighbors rushed to the house to help before emergency crews arrived, breaking windows and using garden hoses in an attempt to rescue the children.

The fire sent shock waves through the community of Port Hedland in the Pilbara region of WA.

Government agencies provided support services in the city.

In a statement earlier this year, the Hawke family said they were going through a “very traumatic grieving process” and asked that their privacy be respected.

“We are quietly paying tribute to our 3 little angels and just supporting each other right now,” they said.

‘Please, let’s do this without adding to our pain.’
