Pornub reveals unusual traffic on its X-rated site during the Trump and Biden presidential debate
Pornhub has revealed that the X-rated site experienced unusually high traffic during and after the US presidential debate on Thursday night.
The event, which saw President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump battle it out on camera, kicked off at 9 p.m. ET — at the time, Pornhub viewership was down 8 percent from average.
“You could certainly say that the debate affected the evening schedules of hundreds of thousands of Americans,” a company spokesperson told DailyMail.com.
Although the decline continued at the start of the debate, searches at 11 p.m., about 15 minutes after the confrontation, were 12 percent above average.

Pornhub is an international site that receives 130 million visitors around the world every day, but the majority of its traffic comes from viewers in the US.
Delaware saw the largest decline, at -22 percent. This may be because the city moved closer to Washington DC, which also saw a -20 percent decline, as did Wyoming.
However, some states saw traffic increases during the debate, with Connecticut being the highest at more than 10 percent, followed by Maine at six percent and Alabama at two percent.
Pornhub published similar data in 2020, when Trump and Biden were competing for the presidential seat.
That year, traffic to the adult content site fell by -18.5 percent at 9 p.m. ET and during the first hour of the debate, compared to -16 percent in 2016 when the candidates first took the stage.
Thursday’s drop on Pornhub doesn’t compare to previous debates, which was likely due to many Americans reporting they had no interest in watching the two men.
Delaware had the largest drop to -22 percent, which may be due to its proximity to Washington DC, which also saw a drop to -20 percent, as did Wyoming.

CNN reported Friday that only 47.9 million people tuned in to their live shows — a steep drop from 73 million years ago.
During Thursday’s debate, Pornhub saw its slump start to rise about an hour into the debate.
Many Americans criticized the candidates, who cursed at each other instead of answering questions about inflation, child care and abortion.
But it seemed like people flocked to Pornhub shortly after the event was over — and lingered there for at least an hour.
